Catholic Procedures when Christ returns

Its an interesting question. When Jesus returns, will everything happen in an instant, or over time? How that would affect liturgy, if Christ is again walking the earth, is an interesting idea.
Suppose the temple worship didn’t end when he was on earth the first time, so maybe nothing. :shrug:Just thinking out loud…

There is a huge difference between temple worship and the Mass. The Mass is Jesus offering His Eternal Sacrifice through the instrumentality of the priest. In the Mass we are present in the heavenly liturgy.

On the other hand, the temple liturgy was just a human act.

(the ‘just a human act’ was required of the Jews by God, it wasn’t a meaningless ‘man-made’ ritual

Your post would make sense if I said there wasn’t a difference between worship and sacrifice in the temple and Mass (which I didn’t). My point was the accepted form of worship to God at the time continued, even while God walked on Earth as Jesus. I suspect if Jesus where here, the Mass would continue until he instituted something else:thumbsup:

I won’t declare what God can do or will not do. However; I think its reasonably to know by now that God is not accustom to being what one would term as a “snapping fingers” God.
All events predestined in God’s design of Time take place in His wisdom alone.

A thousand years of relative earth time may be like unto a day with God. Everything that exist within Time and outside of Time is permitted on God’s authority alone.

Jesus did say when the End is near not to fear. Those who follow God’s Commandments and follow Christ’s Way of Life have nothing to fear.
 
While I’d love to imagine myself giving Jesus a big bear hug and saying, “I thought you’d never get here!” My response would probably be closer to this.

I may be wrong but I think that there may be a case in the Vatican that has instructions in it (in Aramaic, Latin and Greek) and on the front of the case it says “BREAK GLASS WHEN JESUS RETURNS” :yup:
