My new favorite that keeps ringing in my head as we speak.
The Latin sounds strange - is this Old Latin? Does anyone know?
This song was proposed by youtube when I was on the street looking for music to listen to and suddenly the sun appeared from the clouds and blinded me and when I saw the title of this song it felt like the orbis called me to it. And when I heard it I was so happy because it precisely the type of Christian music I love. So here it is.

Lyrics:
  1. Orbis factor rex aeterne, eleison. Kyrie Eleison
  2. Pietatis fons immense, eleison. Kyrie Eleison
  3. Noxas omnes nostras pelle, eleison. Kyrie Eleison
  4. Christe qui lux es mundi dator vitae, eleison. Christe Eleison
  5. Arte laesos daemonis intuere, eleison. Christe Eleison
6. Conservans te credentes confirmansque, eleison. Christe Eleison
  1. Patrem tuum teque flamen utrorumque, eleison. Kyrie Eleison
  2. Deum scimus unum atque trinum esse, eleison. Kyrie Eleison
  3. Clemens nobis adsis paraclite ut vivamus in te, eleison. Kyrie Eleison
This is a XIII-th century hymn.

It is the same pronunciation I’ve been taught. I think most could be that the tune is not that common in the Western part of Christianity so we are simply not used to the short and long notes and we can therefor believe that it is a different “language” or “Old language”. Stressed or unstressed syllables etc.

One factor to consider is also if the language is the singer´s first language or a language learnt as a child. If the language is learnt as an adult, the pronunciation does usually not flow as natural as for one who grew up with the language.

Thank you so much for this link. Extremely beautiful. Yes in your first link Latin sounds like I know it.
But in the old song I gave you there is a sound of “u” pronounced like in the French “pure”. I think I read somewhere that this sound used to exist in Latin but it disappeared after simplications. But I am not sure I remember correctly and was hoping someone would enlighten me on this one.
Thank you again.
God bless.
