I was told when I called Catholic Answers that they couldn’t help over the phone but I should post my question in the forums. I’m not sure where to post it but I really hope someone can help!

I am a convert and a member of an international online Catholic Mom’s Group. Each year we meet in different locations around the country. Next year we are meeting in the San Francisco Bay area. We are hoping for 30 to 40 women next year. We are having a ***really ***hard time finding a retreat center that is TRULY Catholic. On the other hand there is NO shortage of reiki practicing nuns and ti chi master priests 😦

Can anyone direct us to someplace either totally faithful to the Magisterium or with NO religion at all. At least with no religion we won’t have to worry about some false teachings slipping in. kwim? If need be we have the option of bringing a priest with us.

TIA!!!

You can discern Opus Dei. They have many retreats for lay Catholics. They are very obedient to the Church.

Here is a link.

I like the Benedictine Abbey of Sat. Andrew in Valyermo. They have a website.

I don’t know of any in San Francisco but there are two beautiful Catholic Retreat Centers in Sacramento area.

St. Clare’s Retreat House in Soquel usually has pretty solid retreats:

Also, looking at the retreat schedule for El Retiro, the Jesuit retreat center in Los Altos, they’re offerings don’t seem off-the-wall:

Both are beautiful locations. San Damiano in Danville is beautiful, too, but offer some un-solid sorts of retreats.

Too bad you’re not going to be in So. California; there you could go to El Carmelo, the retreat house run by the Discalced Carmelite friars:
