Well, they are not listed on the Catholic Jukebox website, which lists every known (or at least published) Catholic band. .
Sorry, the jukebox site does not have every Catholic artist even from the US. You have to search around a bit more. There are people at www.spiritandsong.com who are not listed on the other site that I know personally as faithful Catholics. There are a wide variety of styles represented among these artists, so listen to sound clips to find what you like. Some people like Curtis Stephan and Jesse Manibusan mix up styles even on the same cd.

Another site for Catholic music
catholicmusicnetwork.com/

www.flatfoot56.com

Celtic Punk rock with guts, plenty of bagpipes, and a clear ‘Oi!’ influence. They write Christian music, but it isn’t the usual stuff that gets boring. Knuckles Up is their newest CD, and it is pretty good.

I used to be in to bands like The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, and Radiohead – any Catholic bands along those aesthetics? That sort of late 80’s/early 90’s alternative scene?

Well, they are not listed on the Catholic Jukebox website, which lists every known (or at least published) Catholic band. I suspected they were not Catholic by the name. To me, the name “Casting Crowns” has an anti-monarchical meaning, implying a denial of the social Kingship of Christ, or that the Kingdom of Heaven is not to find expression on earth. Yet don’t we all prayer the “Our Father” saying Thy KINGDOM come, Thy will be done ON earth as it is in Heaven"? So we are to do on earth as is done in heaven, and heaven is a Kingdom. On the other hand, a name like Katholicus announces their position pretty clearly.
Well I really don’t think the name of Casting Crowns is negating Christ’s kingship it talking about the scripture (and forgive me for not knowing exactly which one) but about casting our crowns of glory at Christ’s feet. Its seems you are to wrapped up in whose denomination is better to hear God’ word being proclaimed to millions through these so called non-Catholic bands. Have you even listened to the music you so quickly jump to attach to a Christ demeaning symbol. If not please do cause the messages in their songs rings true to everyone’s heart not just protestants.

Ceili Rain is really good. I like Crispin also, they are a Catholic Funk Band.

O.K. I know I am waaaay late on this one, but I am a new member and just saw this thread. There is a great Christian/Catholic rock group named Katholicus. Their debut CD is “No Greater Love.” It has excellent songs on it, most of them you can sing along with. In fact, half of the CD they call it rock praise music. The guy does great guitar solos. I noticed in their jacket that they thank Our Lord for “giving His life and grace to us in and through the holy sacraments.” So I believe Katholicus is Catholic. 👍
WOW these guys are really, really good:thumbsup: . I especially love the sound since I’m an 80’s/90’s heavy metal/hard rock fan:cool: , I haven’t been listening to much music since I found Relevant Radio and EWTN radio, but I just might buy this:D !!!

Mumford and sons:)

Not exclusively, but yeah I think they are. Ha ha.

Hello there
I’ve recently started to listen to catholic rock bands…
The only ones i know are Seven Sorrows and Outer fringe.
Can anyone please tell me some others
Thanks in advance
RED is my favorite Catholic rock band.

Someone has to turn me on to some good, heavy, catholic riffs…

There is a great band out of San Antonio, Texas called Glorious Dei. I saw them at a concert at St. Jude Catholic Church, they were awesome. Maybe you could check them out.
