Hello there
I’ve recently started to listen to catholic rock bands…
The only ones i know are Seven Sorrows and Outer fringe.
Can anyone please tell me some others
Thanks in advance

Friday Mourning is a Catholic band.

Hawk Nelson, MxPx, Relient K, and Switchfoot aren’t Catholic bands, but they’re really good Christian bands. 👍

Are any of those bands that you listed metal bands? I’m a big metal fan and i do try to only listen to christian metal but Catholic metal would be even better

good christian metal bands:
The Showdown
Haste the Day
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster
Chasing Victory

**CatholicMusicNetwork.com launches digital music download service

** Miami, Dec. 09, 2005 (CNA) - The Catholic music website, CatholicMusicNetwork.com, launched a digital music service this week allowing users to purchase and download individual songs by Catholic artists in the Mp3 format.

Priced at just $.99 per song the new feature provides users with an additional avenue for acquiring Catholic music along with that of purchasing CDs and tapes at the CatholicMusicNetwork.com online music store.

The digital music download service is ideal for iPods and other MP3 players, which have become increasingly popular among consumers and was a natural outgrowth of CatholicMusicNetwork.com’s leadership in providing online access to music by Catholic artists in both English and Spanish.

Individual songs can be purchased for $.99/each, and in some cases users will be able to download entire albums.

According to Doug Archer, co-founder of CatholicMusicNetwork.com, “This service will allow the public around the world to have faster access to music by their favorite Catholic artists at a reasonable cost and without additional shipping expenses.”

Fusebox and Casting Crowns.
Casting Crowns is Catholic?

O.K. I know I am waaaay late on this one, but I am a new member and just saw this thread. There is a great Christian/Catholic rock group named Katholicus. Their debut CD is “No Greater Love.” It has excellent songs on it, most of them you can sing along with. In fact, half of the CD they call it rock praise music. The guy does great guitar solos. I noticed in their jacket that they thank Our Lord for “giving His life and grace to us in and through the holy sacraments.” So I believe Katholicus is Catholic. 👍

If it’s on K-love it ain’t Catholic.🙂
Musicians and advertisers on there have to be know adherents of sola-scriptura, i think.

Katholicus must be Catholic because our Lord’s Sacred Heart is mentioned in their title song, “No Greater Love” (an excellent song!), and because they thank the Lord on the inner jacket “for giving his life and grace to us in and throught the holy sacraments.” It is also mentioned on the CD jacket that the songs are not meant for use in the sacred liturgy. Evangelicals don’t say such things. Besides, the name is the Greek word for Catholic. So they must be Catholic. You should get the CD. It’s great stuff. I read This Rock, and listen to Katholicus rock! 👍

I’ve heard Tom Booth on Klove, they just don’t give Catholic artists too much air time.

Radix is a Catholic band.
I have to say, I went to a Radix performance and was totally disappointed. I am a musician and I like it when the quality of the music matches the quality of the message. I did not feel this was the case with Radix.

I really like Matt Maher. Very talented.

Hey, this is neat to “talk” with you guys about this stuff. I know there are plenty of Christian rock/pop music stations (all Protestant), but, other than Catholic Jukebox.com (a web radio station), are there any Catholic rock/pop/contemporary radio stations?

I know that on the radio after “Life on the Rock” Thursday night there is a show that often has good music and I think they siad it has streaming music as well. I’ll find out what it is…next wave live or something
