Yeah, satan would NEVER desire to deceive the faithful into thinking something evil is actually totally fine and acceptable, Gee what would he get out of that? LOL
Yeah? Well what if I told you that tying your shoes is a position that invites the demonic to enter into your soul.

You say: that’s absurd.

Now I retort with: “Yeah, satan would NEVER desire to deceive the faithful into thinking something evil is actually totally fine and acceptable, Gee what would he get out of that?”

So, I suppose you’d better find a different way to tie your shoes, dearest mike.

'Cause, ya know, something that you may think is “totally fine and acceptable” could be…

cue the evil laugh sound track

—an invitation to Satan.

I suggest you think Satan is around all sorts of “totally fine and acceptable” behaviors…that’s going to be a really good method of living your life.

That is absolutely the intent along with whatever spiritual occurrences come along with it. If you don’t know what Yoga is, perhaps you shouldn’t practice it. You also advocate “centering prayer” which is also spiritually dangerous.

Going through the motions of Hindu worship has spiritual consequences regardless of intent.
Wrong, but I’m not getting into another mindless debate in here.

Many of these people you just insulted, include priests, who have spoken about such dangers, and in particular, too, exorcists.
If any priest endorses superstition, I would run away as fast as I could.

Also, I’d like to ask if you think that you can conjure up the Holy Spirit, at your command, by doing a particular body position?

It’s not so much about superstition as it is being warned of the dangers of renouncing one’s Catholic faith by taking part in practices formed in non-Catholic primitive religions.

One doesn’t ever “conjur up the Holy Spirit”, anywhere?!

Demons, however, can be conjured up, anywhere.

Understanding this, comes under what is termed ‘spiritual warfare’, which is not for the religious relativists among us (you know, the ‘anything goes’ crowd).

Oh. Like wearing a wedding ring?

You’d better tell your parents to throw those rings as far into the holy water font as they can.

The circle came before the wedding ring.

Indeed though, the practices endorsed by the Church, have obviously found their rightful place.

That’s false equivalence if I’ve ever seen it. Again, to successfully participate in yoga one must contort their bodies in such a way as to take up the postures of Hindu gods. This cannot be separated from Yoga; that’s what it is plain and simple and the Church has warned us not to participate. Who are YOU to say otherwise?!

Right.

So even if you do some sort of “holy posture”, that does not give the Holy Spirit entrance into your soul, simply because you bent your knee and folded your hands.
Demons, however, can be conjured up, anywhere.
I’ve heard it said that if you fold your hands this way, it conjures up the devil because your fingers are pointed downward. Towards…HELL.

What say you to this?

Right.

The Holy Spirit is already within us.

Demons are not.

Well, if you went to a Hindu/New Age website and looked up Yoga, and then copied those physical actions, based on what you saw, then yes.

The circle came before the wedding ring.
Nonsequitur.

Either it’s wrong to take something from another pagan culture, or it’s permissible.

Which is your position?

And remember, in a few days it’s going to be THURSDAY. A day named after a pagan God, Thor.

You’d better start calling it “the 4th day of the week”.

And if you have any friends named “Diana”, you’d better remove her from your presence. Because, you know, non-Catholic primitive religions.

Also, can you tell me what you mean by “primitive religions”?

What makes a religion “primitive”?

I don’t know where your confusion lies in this. Wearing a wedding ring is NOT worship in any sense and has long standing within the Church. Yoga IS Hindu worship and has no standing within the Church; in fact high ranking Churchmen have warned against it for the very reason of what it is.

LOL!

No one has said that wearing a wedding ring is “worship in any sense”.

Wedding rings have pagan origins.

We are agreed that there’s nothing wrong with having a wedding right, right?

Even if it comes from paganism?

The Holy Spirit is already within us.
This is a Protestant view, friar.

We receive the Holy Spirit at baptism and confirmation, but we “leak”.

So the Holy Spirit is not indwelling with us, especially if we have sinned.

Not sure I understand your point here?

If you are saying that some positions are invitations to the demonic, then shouldn’t you be worried that pointing your fingers downward in prayer is an invitation to the devil?

Shouldn’t you keep your hands folded in prayer like this ONLY?

Yoga IS Hindu worship and has no standing within the Church;
Yoga is stretching. In a particular style.

It’s superstitious to think that you can invite the devil in, without having the intention to invite him in, by doing a particular position.

That’s actually something demons want you to believe. “We’re so powerful that you can actually invite us into your soul without your even wanting us to be there!”
