The Bishop of that locale should intervene and if the honour is not rescinded he should remove the “Catholic” designation.Didn’t these folks listen when the Pope visited your country and spoke of the necessity of Catholic institutions of learning to reflect Catholic teaching.Disgusting.😦

I really believe that a message needs to be sent out by the Bishops to all Catholic politicians who promote abortion… excommunication if they don’t immediately repent and observe the Catholic teaching. If these politicians want to change to a different church, then that is an option as well. It’s really misleading for young kids to see a high profile politician who calls himself/herself Catholic and yet is pro-abortion. Excommunication is used as a medicinal remedy, so perhaps showing these politicians and the rest of the faithful that they mean business, may be a good shot in the arm for the Church in the USA.

That would be a problem for them, since most Bible-beleiving non-Catholic Churches shun pro-aborts too.

The theory has been put forward that the RCC only pays lip service to the pro-life cause to lure in non-Catholic Christians into their church.:rolleyes:

I have a hard time taking the church seriously sometimes when I see Catholics in good standing with the church violating the teachings without being excommunicated for it. I think public excommunications are in order. I just see a lack of consistancy here that needs to be addressed.

Tit 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
Tit 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

If the Democrats get into power and pass FOCA, then the bishops needs to do something dramatic, like excommunicate the Speaker of the House.

Why wait for it to go that far? That would be like closing the barn door after all the cows have wandered out.

I really can’t imagine a bishop taking such a bold, decisive step. If he were to do so, he would be ostracized by other bishops and his name made into a synonym for a joke. I don’t think too many of them have that kind of courage.

Sometimes we will suffer indignity for doing the right thing, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to be a coward.
