I’m not sure that education is a corporal act of mercy.

I think the corporal acts of mercy are feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, ransoming the captive, burying the dead, and giving alms to the poor.

I never recall education being on the list.

Catholic Schools can restrict admission to only practicing Catholics if they want and many do, opening up the doors to non-Catholics only if there is room.

For some it may be a luxury, but for me the $1126 tuition every month is a sacrifice. My coworkers all drive BMW’s and Acura’s. I drive a 99 Ford with 194,000 miles on it, in the shop right now getting a new fuel pump.

I imagine if there’s room, and they can pay the tuition, why not? It can also expose more children to our faith and thereby change lives for the better. It’s better than not getting enough students and having to close the school.
