Does anyone know of any good Catholic Scripture Commentaries for any of the books of the NT?

The Ignatius study Bible I’ve heard is fantastic – and sadly only has the NT. 😆

I have The Ignatius Catholic Study Bible: The New Testament, and it is indeed fantastic. I have read it through once, and I refer to it often.

The biblical text is that of the Revised Standard Version, Second Catholic Edition. It includes numerous references to The Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Yes, and Haydock has the advantage of being available freely online since it is in the public domain.

I also have the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible New Testament.

The new “Great Adventure” Catholic Bible is flying off the shelves.

Ah yes, that’s a good one, too. It’s not a verse by verse commentary, but it has a lot of great introductions, essays, maps, and such.

Genesis isn’t in the New Testament. 😜

That’s cool, though. It’s good to have a good handle on Genesis. It’s a lot easier to understand the rest when we understand the beginning.

St. Thomas Aquinas’ Catena Aurea (four volumes - Matthew, Mark, Luke, John)

Can access free online. just google Catena Aurea to find it…I’m a newbee, so I can’t attach a link yet.
