Catholic sharing prayers and tips to reach perfection

Hi all,

Just wondering your little secrets and tips you do/ small extra things you do to help you with your faith. For example
  • I say three hail Mary’s after the rosary for the holy souls in purgatory
  • I say one hail mary every day for someone who I was mean to at School
  • I sometimes say the St Bernard shoulder wound prayer as Jesus said - Honor this wound with thy devotion, and I will grant thee whatsoever thou dost ask through its virtue and merit. And in regard to all those who shall venerate this Wound, I will remit to them all their venial sins, and will no longer remember their mortal sins." Google it
  • I sometimes pray to the parents of really holy people, like the parents of Fr Patrick Peyton, the rosary priest
  • Today I started to pray to the virgin Mary’s guardian angel, we pray to St Michael, Why not holy people’s guardian angel
  • I will try and have a “Rosary day” where I say as many rosaries as I can, I haven’t had many of these as it’s hard but I will continue to try

Journalling. I would say that it is a vital part of Christian life. Lectio Divina, preferably daily, journaling, and the Rosary.
 
I do the three-Hail Mary devotion (three in the morning/evening in honour of the blessings each Person of the Trinity gave Mary, ended by saying "Oh my Mother, preserve me from mortal sin on this morning/evening.)
Daily Rosary, and at least a half-hour in prayer, usually before I go to bed, is important to me too.
Spending plenty of time in silence, just letting my mind be still and resting in the open wound of Christ helps greatly. I often imagine that I’m in absolute darkness, holding Jesus’s Hand, just looking at Him because I can’t see anything else, and telling Him that I don’t know what’s happening, but I trust He will take me to where it needs to go, and I don’t care where that is so long as I still have a hold of His Hand.
 
I think a daily rosary and praying for others, both in Purgatory AND alive, are good habits. St. John Vianney recommended praying for sinners who are alive, because their salvation is not assured, while those in Purgatory are definitely going to Heaven at some point.
 
Three Hail Marys and a Glory Be each morning and evening in honour of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St Alphonsus.

I also like to add a short litany at the end of a rosary asking the intercession of patron and especially beloved saints and beati.

Also, frequent use of Holy water with the prayer ‘By this holy water and by thy Precious Blood, cleanse me from my sins O Lord’, and prayers for the souls in purgatory.
 
Doing the spiritual works of mercy, praying on a daily basis the rosary, divine mercy chaplet, 3 o’ clock prayer (divine mercy), Stations of the Cross, and reading in an audible voice Psalm verses which praise and thank God (I do this for ten minutes).
