Catholic stand on Freemasons

Hello,
I am searching for the truth about Freemasons. Freemasons claim to be God fearing men. Others claim they are satan worshipers and that one of their goals is to unite all religions into one.
I know that at one time the Catholic church told told their members they could not belong to Freemasons. Does this still hold true?

I believe so. Masons scare the heck out of me probably because little is really known about them.
 
Catholics still cannot join. People should not anyway. In America, they do some good charity work, but their doctrine is problematic with Christianity. I am not claiming that they are satanic, but they do have some issues of relativism among other things.
 
There are two schools or systems of Freemasonry.
  1. Grand Orient system, found mostly on the Continent of Europe, which was overtly anti-clerical and anti-Church (ANYBODY’S Church).
  2. Grand Lodge, mostly in England and the USA, which does NOT have these qualities–which makes it all the more dangerous.
Most members of the lodge are simply not aware that either form of Masonry is incompatible with Christianity.

And the whose schtick of the Shriners is pretending to be Muslims. The very buzz words they use would be taken as evidence of having converted to Islam in Muslim countries.
 
Most Christian denominations have stated there opposition to Freemasonry. While Masons must believe in a supreme being they have in essence made their own god and own religion and in thus doing have denied God, Jesus and His sacrifice. I am sure most Masons think so shallowly that to them it is nothing more than a social club.

Grand Orient are hardcore socialdemocrat atheists usually. Militant antireligious State workshippers.

Grand Lodge are country club republican deists and open theists. Religious indeferentists.

Doctrinarie deism and atheism are not compatible with Theistic christianity. But I prefer the american type. By far.
