Hello,
Not sure if this is the proper forum for this question. We are traveling to Madrid Spain next week and would like to visit historical churches/sites related to catholicism. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t know how much time you have and if you can dedicate a day trip to somewhere outside of Madrid, but Ávila is close by and easily reachable from Madrid. (1.5 hours by train)

Are you just going to Madrid? I lived there in 1972-1973.
I definitely would go to the museum El Prado because there will be wonderful religious artwork by Spain’s famous artists and other european artists. I travelled a lot and saw a lot of cathedrals and religious sites in other Spanish cities. It haa been so long since I lived there I have forgotten. Look for a travel book or dvd on spain or madrid.

We will also be going to Toledo and possibly other areas accessible via the high speed rail system. Thanks for the replies, very helpful!
