As a protestant, I used to get a free publication called Our Daily Bread which was basically a scripture, a short devotional text to reflect on and something to guide your prayers that day. It worked out to be a page a day. The books were pocket-sized and came out quarterly.

Is there a Catholic equivalent?

I found the Magnificat website, but it seems a lot more comprehensive and gear toward prayers rather than simple reflections.

Thanks

I believe you will like a daily missal subscription. It has the readings for the daily Mass. Peace.

Magnificat has been invaluable to me. It has the daily readings for Mass, morning and evening prayer readings and lots of other articles of interest. Each magazine has the Order of Mass and other prayers as a “standing item”.

I was given a gift subscription for a year when I was undertaking RCIA, and I’ve continued it since. The supplements you receive at Advent and Lent are also really good.

I’d be lost without it, quite honestly.

We love the Little Books from the Diocese of Saginaw, Sacred Space, and also MAGNIFICAT, which covers the daily readings.

One Bread, One Body is the least expensive.
I love Magnificat and the Word Among Us, but they are both very expensive.
There are a couple of others that are a little less expensive.

I have Magnificat and love it. I originally got a subscription as a gift and continue to renew it. I do the four year subscription as it is the best value and I don’t have to worry about renewing it so often.

There’s also Living Faith, too.

It’s available in the U.S. and Canada.

It’s a Catholic devotional based on the Mass readings.

A yearly subscription is not that expensive if someone would be interested in it.
