A national organization was going to honor her with an award during a prestigious 9-days long leadership program–but she would not be allowed to go to Sunday mass. She wrote them “I am regretfully writing this letter to inform you I will be unable to attend.” It was made clear that I had to chose between my faith and your organization.
This story of what happened several years ago hasn’t lost its meaning at all since then.

Good for her. More people need to stand up for their faith! I applaud her, especially since she did so at such a young age when peer pressure is so immense. I applaud her parents, as well, for raising a teen with such a strong faith.

I heard this story years ago and her strong faith is admirable and still inspires me to this day.
Sadly, the organization hasn’t changed its stance and to participate in the program now you must accept in the application that you will not be able to attend services at the place of worship of your choice. 😦

God bless Her and her family for not backing down and standing up for Our Lord and His Church.

Blessed be God Forever amen
