Catholic Unbelief in the Eucharist

A bit of a different take on this issue but one which i feel is most accurate, i admit i thought the biggest issue was due to our lack of our intellectual tradition in favor of more of a sentimental movement which has caused many to become lukewarm and fall away. This i feel hits home with great accuracy the reason many Catholics find it hard to accept the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist

 
A lot of Catholics were never taught this teaching.

The emphasis was on being a tradition, and a shared meal and like the last supper, but not on what the Eucharist is.
 
I remember at Catholic school as a kid we were all taught this but i feel it’s something that needs to be cemented in our minds constantly. How the mass is presented is fundamental it comprehending just how important it is and what the Eucharist truly is.
 
Yes.
It was probably “taught” once or twice, but never emphasized.
And when we’re also told that the Mass symbolizes what happened at the last supper, and you’re surrounded by Protestants who see it only as a symbol, the teaching can get lost along the way.

When I was a teenager, I stumbled across a good teaching on the Eucharist which really drove home about transubstantiation and I realized how weak every thing I had been taught. (Among all the felt banners and feel-good songs). But I realized that my classmates really had no idea of this teaching.

We had been catechized so poorly.
 
I’ve believed in it. I know, my beliefs have been reinforced where there are stories of parishioners actually kneeling at the door of closed churches because the Tabernacle is inside. Believing it does not mean comprehending it.
 
I really like Brian Holdsworth. This video is pretty accurate as to why.
