Why would any Catholic university bring a Planned Parenthood speaker to campus?

Well, that’s what students at Catholic Madonna University were wondering when the sign-language studies department at Madonna University, a Catholic institution, invited pro-abortion speaker Christine Gannon to teach a workshop on sexual issues.

Thank God, however, the event was canceled after good pro-life students on campus and TFP Student Action spoke up. The online brochure announcing the February 26 event was also removed.

Madonna University president, Sister Rose Marie Kujawa, confirmed the good news to students in an email:

“I wanted to inform you as soon as possible that there will be no speaker from Planned Parenthood at Madonna University (including the Orchard Lake or any other MU extension),” the email stated . “You can share this with our Campus Ministry students. I am sure this will bring relief to their parents as well. Thank you for your prayers.”

FINALLY! It’s good to see a Catholic college having some integrity for once!

This issue of Planned Parenthood trying to promote its agenda at all costs is quite amazing! I am looking for organizations that are pro-life and are doing research that is ethical, regarding breast cancer research. Any suggestions or information is greatly appreciated. Many good, Catholic people who are uninformed about how deep Planned Parenthood goes are unknowingly giving money to organizations that are ultimately promoting PP’s agenda. It is time to provide alternatives and education! God bless!

I believe some do out of sheer ignorance of what PP’s agenda entails. I also believe some do because administration and faculty still pretend that they are living in their hippie-dippy kum bay ya days and it is cool to buck any establishment and who cares where the money comes from. I also believe a lot of other things, but I shan’t get into to them now**;).**

I hope that is the case and they grew some, but I really doubt it. Skepticism is in my mind and I can not get past the fact that money(funding) seems to be prevalent in many decisions that are made nowadays. My kids do not attend a CINO college nor will they ever attend a CINO college, cha-ching has a loud ring. If this college actually has integrity, God bless. Their college website doesn’t exude “Catholicism” except for a nun president and some Franciscan principles. You can study “Catholicism” there even if it is not your “persuasion”. I believe they got caught playing with fire(PP) and got called on it. Maybe they should forever bar PP (not just cancel a speaker) from campus and maybe some good Catholic kids might end up there. Oh well, I’ve had mine for the day:). Next.

Peace, Graubo

Yes, you know everytime October and pink ribbon campaigns come around I want to scream. So many people who would otherwise not want to support these agendas participate, unknowingly, in the pro-abortion cause. I wish I knew of the type of organizations youre looking for but I dont.
But back to the topic, I am glad this speaker was cancelled, that University might have a long way to go but at least a step in the right direction.
