Leuven operates independently from the Church. It would be wrong for a Catholic university to teach Islam to students (even Muslim students) as if it were true (presumably Imams are not going there to have the errors of Islam refuted…).
As the fifth Fifth Lateran Council logically defined:
And since truth cannot contradict truth, we define that every statement contrary to the enlightened truth of the faith is totally false and we strictly forbid teaching otherwise to be permitted.
