Catholic victim of stabbing paralysed - please pray!

from BBC website: "A man and a woman have been arrested by police after a mother was stabbed while walking with her young child.

Abigail Witchalls, 26, is critically ill in hospital after being stabbed in the neck in Little Bookham, Surrey [UK], on Wednesday afternoon. She was attacked as she pushed her 21-month-old son Joseph in a buggy. "

Abigail and her family and in laws are described in the UK press today as devout catholics. Her 26-year-old husband’s siblings are themselves religious.

Abigail is paralysed from the neck down and cannot speak - she can only blink to express replies to her mother. Her family have openly proclaimed their Catholic faith and belief in miracles in the national press.

Please my American and Canadian friends, pray for Abigail! Please pray for her family have the miracle they are praying for.

Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

I will pray for Abigail and her family in this time of stress and need. Was her son Joseph hurt?

I’m going to pray for Abigail and her family. This is tragic and senseless. It touches me in a profound way because I escaped an attempted stabbing in London when I lived there in 1997. I was unaware that the payphone that I was using near Victoria’s Station was used by drug dealers. To make a long story short, a man who must have been waiting for a drug call became very angry that he had to wait to use the phone. He ripped open the door and said, “I have a knife in my pocket and I could stab you in the head.” A woman who was with him and was waiting in the driver’s seat of a car shouted, “Do it! Do it!” I don’t remember what happened during the several minutes in which he had me cornered in the phonebooth. Some German tourists (speaking German) walked by looking alarmed but they must have thought it was a domestic dispute and did not intervene. They did not seem to understand English when I shouted, “I don’t know him!” For some reason, he decided not to stab me and let me go. I ran all the way back to the hostel where I was living shaking harder than I have ever experienced in life. Abigail’s story brought all of those memories back to me as I had pushed it way back in my mind. I went to the BBC website to read the full story about Abigail and I’m saddened. I’m going to pray directly to John Paul II, as he had a special connection with young Catholics.
 
The child was unhurt.

There are more and more terrible things happening in the UK.

God help us.

What a horrible and shocking story! I will pray for this young Mother and her family. Thea, please keep us informed if you can on her condition. Such a shame.
 
I’ve started a rosary thread for her on this forum–please feel free to join in prayer for Abigail. . .
