Catholic Videos for 8th Grade RE

I’m looking for suggestions for good videos I might use for 8th Grade Religious Education. I’m considering using some of the short videos by Archbishop Robert Baron, although I’m not sure if some of the content is a bit over their heads.

Short videos (3-10 minutes) are preferable so we have time to discuss it, and because let’s be real, most 8th graders don’t have long attention spans. I’m open to longer videos of any kind as long as I can find a way to fit it or part of it into a 60-minute session.

ascension press has the bible timeline bible study for jr high. Lessons are less than an hour each.

You might want to consider the one-hour DVD “Extreme Mercy” which is Father Donald Calloway’s conversion story. I have shown it to several of my teen grandchildren and they were riveted to it.

Lots of adults were impressed with it also!

Our program just introduced the video series “Altaration” - I love it, and it is broken into excellent small sections that discuss one idea or thought and would be a good jumping off point for discussion. There are actually student books and a leader’s guide that help with discussion.
