And if they start listing traits of past gods/religions, ask them how they know that this is what people of those religions really believed. Often, traits will be arbitrarily assigned to gods in a dishonest attempt to disprove Christianity. Just because some say that Horus was supposedly born of a virgin doesn’t mean that, that’s how the story actually went.
Your words are comforting but I need sites, facts etc about some of the religions that were around before Christ that could be, in theory, related to Catholicsm, but can be easily dismissed as not related at allAlso, in ancient times different cults cross-pollonated each other and people accepted foreign gods into their own pantheons. Why would Christianity survive while none of these other hybrid religions did?
