Can someone recommend a good book or long article on the role of Catholicism in the development of Democracy? As part of my son’s history, he’s learned a bit about how the reformation influenced democracy, but I am certain there is Catholic foundation to it.

Much of what I have found comes from Leo XIII, which focuses more on forms of government as relates to labor and property ownership.

Thanks for the help,

Carl
