I love having nightmares, I love being scared. I know its kinda a stupid question, but do you think God will let us have nightmares in heaven if we so desire?

Are you sure the souls in heaven sleep? In any case, our desires will be compatible with God’s will. Whatever about you enjoys a fright, if you retain it in heaven, that means it will be pleasing to God and your desires will be fulfilled, perhaps in a fashion that pleases you more than nightmares.

I believe that scary dreams are meant to show you the problems in your life and your fears. You must be a young person who loves to watch horror movies to feel the thrill of being scared. They say that young people like scary movies.
I used to like scary movies until I got older and realised that I was attracting the darkness of evil into my life. So now I don’t like to watch them anymore. But I still have scary dreams but usually they symbolize my fears which are unfounded.
I think as you get older you will change your mind about nightmare dreams. I think you should write them down. You may be another Stephen King type of writer.lol.
You never know so try it. You could submit your stories to t.v. producers or movie producers.
Last night I had a dream that a jumbo type of airplane fell down and burst into flames. I could see the flames far away eventhough I could hear the engine real loud as I saw it falling down. I ducked in my dream so I didn’t get to see it crash. I think the plane went a few more miles from me because I saw the flames far away. I have never had a dream like that before. Im 35. I dont believe me liking being scared is cause of problems in my life. Its just another form of adrenaline rush like someone that sky dives or bungie jumps. Mostly the only dreams I have are nightmares cause thats what I think about as I go to sleep. Almost never are they anything to do with evil, more often they are things like being by a cobra and not being able to find a doc with anti venom, or being in a city thats being ravaged by tornadoes and me running around trying to escape em. I always wake up wanting more.
Hehe yeah, when I wake up, I often write down what I can remember for em. I am trying to be a writer a long the lines of Stephen King.

You made me laugh…it is fun to laugh. You should buy a book on “Lucid dreaming”. I bought one years ago and I used to be able to control my dreams. My favorite dream used to be one where I am in the ocean and a giant wave grabs me and takes me up real high on the wave and as I am coming down I feel like I am on a roller coaster and I relax and enjoy the ride because I know I am dreaming. I end up safely on the beach on the sand.
I once dream’t years ago that somebody shot me and I was going to die but I woke up.
I am a mature older lady now but when I was in my thirties I used to dream all kinds of strange dreams and I was able to control them.
Presently, my favorite dreams are when I am having visions of people and places and I know that I allow myself to look and see the visions. That is the most fun for me.
Here is a technique for you to use. Write down on a piece of paper what you want to dream about and eventually you will dream about it. It works for me.
As you wake up from your dream don’t move your head or you will forget what you dream’t about. Go over your dream real quick before you forget it.
Look for the quick visions. For example; recently I saw some beautiful pink flowers. It was a quick vision but an important vision for me.
Since we are catholics we are not responsible for the dreams we have at night. During the day I try to stay in God’s grace by taking responsibility for the things I do in life.
I try to stay in God’s light of protection especially at night time.
Another great writer is that young guy from India. I forget his name. I think he dreams up his movie stories and has the money to produce the movies.
Have fun dreaming. I still have fun dreaming mostly positive dreams and dreams that don;t make any sense to me.

I don’t think you’ve ever had a real nightmare. If you had, I think you’d already know the answer to your own question. Any time I have a nightmare I usually don’t want to go back to sleep in case it happens again.

I definitely have em, almost everynight cause I purposely think bout it. And when I wake up, I try and go right back to sleep cause I want more. Not everyone doesnt enjoy being scared. Nightmares are the only time I truly get scared, movies and books don’t do it for me. Ive even been mugged a couple times and shot at, nothing compares to the thrill of a nightmare. I dont know how thats supposed to mean I know the answer to my question. If I knew the answer, why would I of asked it?

I had an interesting nightmare last night. I live in a condo with simple furniture and it is neat. I dream’t that my 87yr.old Mom moved in with me during the night while I was sleeping. My Mom is a very messy person and makes a big mess for her cleaning lady to clean up every day.
Well… in my dream she had spilled some orange juice on my wood floors and I knew I had to clean it up. There was a plate of watermelon pieces on the floor too.
The worse part was she had brought in her junky furniture and ugly decorations and had them on my walls. I looked at them with sadness in my heart.
The worse part was that it was Christmas time and she had brought in a very tall large christmas tree with lots of lights and there were Christmas lights everywhere in the room.
Plus there were lots of green tall plants near the tree. I don’t like christmas trees because they are so messy. I prefer the fake tiny trees and other types of decorations.
She had taken all of the light bulbs out of my lamps. She does strange things like that in her apartment. My Mom also has mental problems of paranoia, depression and a very critical person who talks bad about me and everybody else. She is very fussy too. It would be very hard to live with her.
I WAS HAPPY TO WAKE UP!!! LOL.
My interpretation of my dream is if she ever has to move from her apartment… I plan to pay for her to move to another apartment. The rates on rentals has gone up in Los Angeles
and I had told her she could move in with me if she ever had to move.
This dream gave me the answer not to let her move in with me. I plan to find a rental near my sister so she will be near her and a favorite nephew.
I have a partial vision problem and not in top health so it would be a lot of work having to clean up after her right away. I am a senior myself. “WOW” What a dream!!
I am so glad I live alone with my doggie. “WHEW”

Hey Lucryster, Have you thought about when you get to be a real old man that you might not be able to have anymore nightmares because the adrenaline rush may cause you to have a heart attack or a stroke? I am just guessing. Plus you may lose interest in nightmares as you get older.
I am guessing that most likely when you go to the other side you will meet other people like me who like to talk about dreams. I love talking about dreams. I dream too much.
Some people don’t remember their dreams or say they never dream.
I believe I will see all of my favorite pets when I cross over to the other side. I am looking foreward to seeing all of my loved ones too.

I think whatever it is you enjoy about the nightmares you will have in heaven but you will probably not have to be asleep for it. I bet God gets a kick out of you! He probably thinks you’re something special to enjoy nightmares. Do you like rollercoasters too?

Speaking of change, if you ever feel like trying it, falling asleep with the rosary in your hand saying several Hail Mary’s usually does a fair job of redirecting the nightmare thing … who knows … ? … might actually find it enjoyable .

Hey Need, I like the idea of the rosary. I plan to wear my rosary around my neck tonight because I have been having some strange dreams that I don’t like.
I also plan to write down on a piece of paper that I want to have happy dreams. I also plan to bless myself with holy water. I think that will stop the strange unhappy dreams.
One time I was visiting my grandson in Albany, Georgia, and before he went to bed I blessed him with holy water and I told him he would have happy dreams.
In the middle of the night I heard him laughing in his sleep. He woke up really happy.
When a relative boy came to spend the night I also blessed him with the holy water. My grandson told him he would have happy dreams. So the little boy got real happy.
I don’t like nightmare dreams.lol. I have been having dreams like Stephen King type of dreams and also like the movie director Alfred Hitchcock. My dreams are so clear like being in a movie. I am part of the movie and I don’t like it. I think the writer McKnight would like my dreams the best.
If I keep having those strange dreams I am going to start writing them down and turning them into movie type of writing and submit them to movie directors. I am serious. I could make a lot of money and give some of it to the poor. My favorite charity is feeding the poor people in America. We have our own poor people in our own communities that need our help with donations. Lucy

Well I don’t like nightmares. When I wake out of one I usually get up get a glass of water or read for a while to make sure I don’t go back into that dream. However, if I’m too stuck to the bed, I recite Hail Mary and Our Father over an over until I fall asleep.
I’m not afraid of nightmares, but I prefer funny dreams or beautiful dreams.
This is an interesting thread. I am enjoying hearing about people’s dreams. The Christmas dream was something else LOL!!

You dream, but you don’t remember your dreams. Everyone dreams. You probably wake up too fast or don’t get enough sleep. Try to sleep more on weekends, and see if you remember some of your dreams.

In heaven one is perfectly happy through the vision of God. If the soul of a dog is required to complete that happiness it would be required to complete the perfection of God which can not be true. Therefore, no animals are in heaven.Said once to me concerning Dog’s in heaven, and that I imagine is appropriate here.
If you require this to be happy, then it will be provided.
I would hedge my bet that it is not required though.

Hi Christine, I should write a story about the Christmas Nightmare. I could embelish it with all the other strange things my mom does in her apartment. She likes to eat cookies while walking around and leaves crumbs all over the floors. Plus she likes to eat sitting down on her sofa and leaves lots of fried chicken crumbs on the sofa. Plus, she hides her expensive boxes of chocolate candies under her sofa and forgets about them until they get old. One Christmas she hid a pecan pie in her closet and forgot about it. She was having company and she didn’t want to share all of her three pies with them so she hid one pie. I told her to next time to put it in the frezzer sp.
My Mom likes to hoard food eventhough she lives alone.lol.
