No, I am not Nonsum; I posted when I saw your attack on him for telling the truth - as I would hope any Christian would when seeing someone being attacked unjustly.
I post here to note, not that I agree with MMLJ, but his/her last post with reference to the Acts of Apostles 28:22 was legitimate in nature. Member nosumd failed to respond in a Christian manner.
Well, the thing is, MMLJ, your style is more jihadist than Catholic, so perhaps you could let us know if you are appearing here as pro Catholicism or as pro Islam?
From reading the previous posts of MMLJ, the term ‘Jihadist’, does in fact demonstrate that the connotation you have employed, surprisingly would make you pro-Islam. That is, to those in Islam who utilize the term in a false manner. It is this cantankerous approach towards this word that fuels Islamic propaganda.

This is what Jihad means:

**Jihad **
Other Commonly Used Spellings: JIHAAD

It is an Arabic word the root of which is Jahada, which means to strive for a better way of life. The nouns are Juhd, Mujahid, Jihad, and Ijtihad. The other meanings are: endeavor, strain, exertion, effort, diligence, fighting to defend one’s life, land, and religion.
Jihad should not be confused with Holy War; the latter does not exist in Islam nor will Islam allow its followers to be involved in a Holy War. The latter refers to the Holy War of the Crusaders.

Jihad is not a war to force the faith on others, as many people think of it.
It should never be interpreted as a way of compulsion of the belief on others, since there is an explicit verse in the Qur’an that says:“There is no compulsion in religion” Al-Qur’an: Al-Baqarah (2:256).
Jihad is not a defensive war only, but a war against any unjust regime. If such a regime exists, a war is to be waged against the leaders, but not against the people of that country. People should be freed from the unjust regimes and influences so that they can freely choose to believe in Allah.
Not only in peace but also in war Islam prohibits terrorism, kidnapping, and hijacking, when carried against civilians. Whoever commits such violations is considered a murderer in Islam, and is to be punished by the Islamic state. during wars, Islam prohibits Muslim soldiers from harming civilians, women, children, elderly, and the religious men like priests and rabies. It also prohibits cutting down trees and destroying civilian constructions.(University of Southern California USC-MSA Compendium of Muslim Texts)

Let us move on with this thread.

Genesis 1
10 And God called the dry land, Earth; and the gathering together of the waters, he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
12 And the earth brought forth the green herb, and such as yieldeth seed according to its kind, and the tree that beareth fruit, having seed each one according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
18 And to rule the day and the night, and to divide the light and the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
21 And God created the great whales, and every living and moving creature, which the waters brought forth, according to their kinds, and every winged fowl according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, and cattle, and every thing that creepeth on the earth after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
31 And God saw all the things that he had made, and they were very good.

Matthew 15
16 But he said: Are you also yet without understanding? 17 Do you not understand, that whatsoever entereth into the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the privy? 18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth, come forth from the heart, and those things defile a man. 19 For from the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies. 20 These are the things that defile a man. But to eat with unwashed hands doth not defile a man.

Mark 7
*15 There is nothing from without a man that entering into him, can defile him. But the things which come from a man, those are they that defile a man.

16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 17 And when he was come into the house from the multitude, his disciples asked him the parable. 18 And he saith to them: So are you also without knowledge? understand you not that every thing from without, entering into a man cannot defile him: 19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but goeth into the belly, and goeth out into the privy, purging all meats? 20 But he said that the things which come out from a man, they defile a man.

21 For from within out of the heart of men proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile a man.*

Acts 10
11 And he saw the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great linen sheet let down by the four corners from heaven to the earth: 12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts, and creeping things of the earth, and fowls of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him: Arise, Peter; kill and eat. 14 But Peter said: Far be it from me; for I never did eat any thing that is common and unclean. 15 And the voice spoke to him again the second time: That which God hath cleansed, do not thou call common.

Apocalypse 21
5 And he that sat on the throne, said: Behold, I make all things new…

Now, if Muhamed was a partner with Jesus in the Redemption, why does his god curse creatures like dogs and pigs, and revert to the Old Covenant prohibitions of the Jews when they have been clearly superceded in the Gospel? Didn’t Christ make all things new? Yep, he was the unlettered prophet. Hadn’t read the Gospel. 🤷

It is always interesting to see non-Mulsims conclude what is false or not within Islam.

Should we use the modern Moslem definition like you hold, or the Quran’s definition of jihad?

Picthal translates
2:216 Warfare is ordained for you, though it is hateful unto you; but it may happen that ye hate a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that ye love a thing which is bad for you. Allah knoweth, ye know not.

Mohsin Khan translates
2:216 Jihad (holy fighting in Allahs Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.

7th to 18th century Mulsims seemd to think it was more a physical war than a spiritual struggle. I think many non-Western Muslims think similarly.
Jihad is not a defensive war only, but a war against any unjust regime.
It is more often an offensive action.

What if the people do not want to believe in allah? It is a compulstion for the leaders to compell them to believe in allah, or pay a tax if the are in the “tolerated” dhimmi group- People of the Book.
Not only in peace but also in war Islam prohibits terrorism, kidnapping, and hijacking, when carried against civilians. Whoever commits such violations is considered a murderer in Islam, and is to be punished by the Islamic state.
Mohamed did not prohibit those things in peace or war. It is the Islamic state doing it to non-Islamic states.

If you were to ask a practicing Nazi about the history between 1933 and 1945- would you get a view of history you or most of the world would agree with, or might it be tainted to make their view more palatable to the uninformed? I think a victim of Nazism would be more accurate description of it than the Nazi’s.

I often hear Moslems and non-Moslem aplogists say a Moslem explaination about the Mulsim faith is the only definition to be accepted. I disagree. I would agree if all Mulsims sang the same tune, but they do not.

Any non-Catholic can claim Catholics worship Mary, but this is untrue as every Catholic will correct the person making that claim.

If you ask a Moslem what Islam means you will get varied responses like it means peace, or submission. Which is it as those two words are very differnt?

I do not buy into “you must read and know Arabic” to get the nuance of it’s meaning. Some things are much more simple than we make them out to be.

By the way the Muslim Student Association (MSA) is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood which is the organization that Al qaeda and Hamas are decendents. The muslim brotherhood also had close alliances with hitler in WWII. Just FYI.

I did not make a conclusion, I simply showing that muslims themselves do not know what jihad means.

I just referenced the following which supercedes the dictionary:

Yes.

I am not in any way a non-muslim apologist. (see the thread KORAN ERRORS and Contradictions in this forum)
Any non-Catholic can claim Catholics worship Mary, but this is untrue as every Catholic will correct the person making that claim.
Actually I have seen many Catholics, confused of course, worship Mary. In addition I have seen others worship Pope John Paul II. They know not what they do.

Yes. This is a common flaw in Islam, i.e. you must know Arabic to get the true meaning. Utter nonsense, one should be able to understand no matter what the language of the Koran, ’if’ it was the Word of God, which I know it is not.

GOD Bless you.🙂
