Maybe the Church is not growing in your area because of attitudes like yours, a refusal to accept what the Church herself accpets as normal and ordinary.

For your information, no priest in the world can ever be forced to celebrate the Extraordinary Form (tridentine) Mass. Anyone who pressures a priest to do so should expect a curt response at best. If you pressured the priest at all, then you have trampled his rights and overstepped your own authority.

Me thinks one of the tragedies of the post-Vatican II period was the number of Diocese that forbad the celebration of the Tridentine Mass. Not as unfortunate as the reaction of those who condemned the Novus Ordo as a sacrilege, but most unfortunate. There should be room in the Church for both forms of the Mass and both pieties.

Is it really overstepping of one’s authority as a lay person to let a priests know what one’s liturgical preferences are with the request that if possible a particular ordo might be made available?:
