Quit confusing this :banghead: with FACTS !

He is only here to bash and dash.
Facts? He wants FACTS? Oh my goodness…I wonder if he really is here for an intelligent discussion?

Bash and dash…I like that term. Hadn’t heard it before. I’ve always called them “hit and runs.”

The truth shall set you free. Making claims that Mary is the ark of the new covenant will not gain you anything. Again, she isn’t mentioned once past the book of Acts. What you have given me for proof is garbage. It proves nothing. Just as calling Mary mediatrix is not scriptural but yet contrary to it and insulting to our Lord and Savior who said that nobody goes onto the father except through him (not Mary).
And we all know that everything before the Book of Acts is completely fallible and unreliable. If you believe so strongly that scripture supports your points, then I invite you to show your proofs in scripture.

And by the way, I am still waiting for the passages about divorce. Just a reminder.

I’m waiting for the Scriptural proof on female priests, practicing homosexual bishops, and abortion and contraception too.

But if RP wants to opt out of the first two, since I understand from the news that some Anglicans are definitely against practicing homosexual priests or bishops, or practicing homosexuality in general, and some are even not in favor of female ordination, but I do know the Lambeth conference was not just ‘the U.S.’, I’ll settle for Scriptural proof that abortion and contraception are perfectly all right and original to Christian belief and practice.

I have never seen any Anglicans like this before. In fact, it sort of goes against many of their teachings.

I think that perhaps he was not Anglican at all.

I know: more like somebody who had been doing a school report with Wiki, found some anti-Catholic links, and was seized with delusions of grandeur.

I was Catholic for 34 years and I got out.
I’m sorry that in those 34 years you never found anyone to explain and teach you what Catholicism is. I find it sad too, that so many don’t know their own faith. Its much easier, perhaps cause you’re actually searching for the truth, to know all the whats and whys and hows when you’re a convert, at least thats how I see it.

Well, my husband say’s it’s time for me to get off the ***** computer. Kids are making chocolate chip cookies, so I guess I’d better over see that.

See ya’ll tomorrow!

Take care mommyof4!

nice try but still Catholic gossip. Macabes is not a true book of scripture but a book of the Apocrypha
That’s a fascinating assertion, given the fact that both books Maccabees 1 and 2, were recognized by the Fathers as inspired and canonical at the Councils of Hippo (393) and Carthage (397, 419).

ReformationPlus,

I have a suggestion…start with one issue or problem at a time. We can then all discuss it until it’s well covered. Jumping from one assertion to another is not productive.

Catholic Church is the original Church of Jesus Christ.

Protestantism did not exist until 1517 A.D. You claim Protestantism exist before that you ignore history and you are far from the true.

Protestants should leave their churches and become Catholics. That is the only way God will welcome you. Throw away Faith Alone and Scripture Alone since those are Man made doctrines.

Ah, it is only the Roman church who refers to Peter as the first pope but history doesn’t support that at all. The supremacy of Rome (or the illusion thereof) was always in constant question. Peter was a poor fisherman who wasn’t charasmatic at all and much of the time wasn’t even bright. The popes are carried into the mass surrounded by mounds of gold and jewels. Peter was poor. There isn’t even the remotest of comparisons here. Catholic teaching does not correspond with teachings of the early church. Check your history regarding the immaculate conception and the assumption. Nowhere to be found in scripture or the early church. Completely fabricated by the Roman Catholic Church.
Yup, Peter was so dumb and so uncharismatic that he by his preaching converted 3,000 people in one day at that first Pentecost

As for being ‘carried into mass surrounded by mounds of gold and jewels’, have you checked the Queen and the Archbishop of Canterbury, who are the heads of your Anglican church, lately? Not exactly reeking of Christlike poverty if you get my drift.

Did you know that Pope John Paul 2 wrote a will - but it disposes of no private property, because he had no private property of his own to dispose of. Now tell me he isn’t exactly like the poor fisherman Peter. And tell me that the Queen or the Archbishop of Canterbury, or even your local pastor, are similarly bereft of private property of their own. Whereas many Catholic clergy are indeed vowed to poverty and do indeed live out that vow.

This does not need to be turned into a complexity and you know it. The poof is really your burden if you claim to be Christ’s church. Your teachings are not concurrent with scripture and so many of your dogmas are non-sensical and in many cases laughable. Prove that Mary was born without original sin and also prove that she entered into Heaven body and spirit. I will be waiting for your proof.
Anglicanism is absolutely devoid of unity, holiness, catholicity, and apostolicity.

I will pray for all of you who have been distorted in this Lenten season. Have a good night my Christian brothers and sisters. I was Catholic for 34 years and I got out. The longer you are out of it, the clearer you can see the distortion and the brainwashing. May God be with you all.
Where is Lent mentioned in the Bible?

Care to discuss?

I think its quite fair to state that you have no proof the Mary was born without sin and that she entered into Heaven body and spirit. Thats really the point. You people are a legend in your own mind and in nobody elses Protestant or whatever you want to refer to them as.
Talk about legends !

The Rule of Faith, adopted by the Church of England, and by other classes of Protestants, is the written Word of God, or the Bilble alone, “according as it is understood by each particular person.” That this is not the True Rule of Faith can be easily proven namely:
  1. The Rule of Faith appointed by Christ must be certain and unerring; that is to say, it must be one which is not liable to lead any rational and sincere inquirer into inconsistency and error.
  2. This Rule must be universal.
Care to elaborate?

I declare this to be an unfair fight. The Church comes with 1. The Lord Jesus Christ who never left us; 2. The Bible; 3. All the Saints; 4. The Eucharist; 5. The Dogmas of the Church; and etc. Poor ReformationPlus comes with…(Edited by Moderator)

It just isn’t fair. He’s come to a gun battle with a table knife in hand. Unfair.
