I’ve heard it been said that there isn’t much in the way of evidence that Peter has ever been to Rome. But I have also heard that when Jewish converts walk into the church it’s much like a “pro-Messianic Judaism.” Are there any indications that Catholic practices are the fulfillment of Judaism’s practices, or that Catholic practices are dirrived from Jewish practices?

The liturgy of the word is nearly all jewish worship, you don’t exit jewish worship in fact until you get past the liturgy of the word in to the liturgy of the Eucharist which is all NT.

As far as Peter, there is an abundance of evidence for his Roman residency:

Further, the same fathers also emphisise the importance of his Chair.

Echo that, seeing a messianic jew at this time and I’ve been with her to their saturday sabbath worship several times. I’ve informed her of this fact before: that the entire liturgy of the word is the same exact thing as the Jewish worship with two minor exceptions:
  1. Some things are done in slightly different order
  2. Instead of the Torah being kept in the tabernacle, because it is the incomplete word of God, we have the Eucharist in the Tabernacle, which is the complete and perfect Word of God.

Can you explain what you mean by this term? I’m a bit confused by it. Messianic Judaism is, from what I understand, a modern phenom.

Well, I am a Jewish convert…in many ways, mass reminds me of the modern day Jewish synagogue worship that I was experienced as a child.

Om… I wasn’t really coding a specific denomination, just what it came across as to Jewish converts.
