So much of what the Syro-Malankara have preserved is but a memory to the Maronites. As I said in the other thread, (and I know this is, unfortunately, in vain), I hope Mor Bechara learns something. 🙂

Would you say that the Malankara are the most authentically “Syriac” in the Catholic communion?
 
The Malankaras are probably the “Eastern” Church that is most faithful to its tradition because they only came into communion with Rome recently (1930s). They do not have the same experiences of Latinizations that occured in such churches as the Malabar and Maronite ones.

Malphono: Can you provide any info about relations between the Maronites and the Church of the East (East-Syriac)? I know Maronites are commonly placed under the Antiochian Rite, but it seems that they have some connections with Mesopotamian Christianity (e.g. Sharrar).
