=sunshine1974;7861390]I was raised Catholic but do not agree with all their teachings or beliefs. I was recently denied communion because I attend another church which is not Catholic. I was very humiliated and hurt because God would never deny anyone to come to his table. I attend a Methodist church and we have open communion which is what God would want. I am a communion minister at my church and very involved. I know Catholics who do not attend church on a regular basis and are allowed communion. I have talked with several Eucharistic Ministers in the Catholic church and they would never deny anyone communion and then I talked to several who said they would give communion to the person and later tell then they could not receive it again. How can there be so many differences in the way communion is administered among the Catholic faith.
Welcome to the FORUM!
Christ most certainly would deny you and anyone else who DOES NOT BELIEVE what he as God teaches; the opportunity to receive Him in Person.
In John Chapter six: “The Bread of Life” Diccourse; God Himself is tying to introduce a NEW TRUTH; Many failed to understand what He was saying and LEFT HIM. JESUS NEVER CALLED THEM BACK.
1Cor.11: 23 to 29 "For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. ***Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself. ***
What Paul is saying is that receiving Catholic Communion either in Mortal sin or unbelief of God’s REAL Presence is Profaning God;and denying God; the One unforgiveable sin!
Serious stuff!
The very KEYS to heaven [Mt. 16:19] have been given persoanlly by Jesus to Peter and His One Faith; One Church/ Catholic Church. Leaving the church is easy; discovering thee truth is not. [BUT IT IS POSSIBLE]. One CAN get you to heaven and other can and WILL likely get you some other place.
Be careful friend, you owe it to yourself to get the facts.
**John 17:20-23 "**I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word, that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved me. “
Heb.6 Verses 4 to 10: For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, [Baptized] who have tasted the heavenly gift, [CATHOLIC HOLY COMMUNION] and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, [CONFIRMED AS A CATHOLIC -your decision!] and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, [HAD THE BIBLE PROPERLY, FULLY AND TRUTHFULLY EXPLAINED AT MASS] if they then commit apostasy, since they crucify the Son of God on their own account and hold him up to contempt. For land which has drunk the rain that often falls upon it, and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose
sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed; its end is to be burned.
