Can I also ask if we Catholics can have crystals in our home? Again this is a question about Spiritual Warfare. I have a salt crystal. Back in 7th grade we had a science fair and the topic we had done is about making crystals with alum salt. So we have done the experiment and outside of class I made my own crystal. It is just so fascinating. Can I keep the crystal because of science?

Um, pretty sure you can. It is just when you attach New-Agey superstitions to them that it becomes problematic.

I have large pink quartz on display in my house. It’s a decorative item.

Salt crystal? Of course! It occurs in nature. It IS nature.
New age crystals? Not so much.
Crystal meth, don’t even ask!

Crystals are crystals. There is no such thing as a “new age” crystal. They are all natural crystals from the earth. So therefore from God. Admire them because the are cool and beautiful. Any fear of “magical” or “new age” properties is just ridiculous superstition.

IMO, true to a degree, but…
their manufacturing origin and prior or intended use could potentially complicate matters. Made in school for a science project - no problem at all.

We are derailing. Sorry.

Crystals are very pretty and can be used in jewelry or a nice display.

They do not have magical powers nor are they in tune with the vibrations of the universe, man ✌️

Crystals are part of God’s creation and it’s perfectly fine to have them in the home for decoration or study or because we like to look at them, as long as we don’t use them for any New Age or divination purpose.

In terms of your salt crystal, most of us already have salt crystals in our home, in the salt shaker, where we sprinkle them on and in the food we eat every day. It’s not a problem.

Diamonds are crystals. Does any married lady want to give up her engagement ring?
