I don’t know much about what most of the non-catholic christians think about our statues. I know some think we are idolaters. I once did a long Bible study by mail with the Seventh Day Adventists. Does not having any statues keep one safe from idolatery and also safe from worshiping the Statue that comes to life and speeks, deceiving the Nations during all the “End Times” events. Are we Catholics Idolaters now and will be in the “End Times”?

NO! and you can take that to the bank and draw interest on it.

No the Catholic church has always condemned the practice of idolatery. The Library found on this web site covers in great detail this specific question and many more. Hope this helps

I am from the Mormon Church, and they don’t use much of anything in their chapels at all, except maybe pews, podium, microphone, and not much more, because of this idea.

I kinda look at statues, like I would a Telescope, where the telescope is the instrument in getting to know the visible heavens, so the statues are just instruments in framing our minds toward GOD.

Worshipping the objects themselves is bad, but people do that, instead of thinking of the objects, as just a way to help frame our mines toward GOD.

The Monstrance is an example that people can think of it as LENS that focuses our minds on the LORD, or worship the object itself…and by the way, a Monstrance that Pope John Paul II had blessed, will be in Detroit tonight, and heard it on my local News Radio Station - WWJ.
