Illegals can be and have been charged with and convicted of those same identity theft related crimes. THEN, after prison time, they are deported.
This is true. ICE will not deport until all criminal charges and have been cleared. Charges are not just dropped for deportation, rather the criminal serves his sentence and then is deported.

Sealing the border completely with our terribly dysfunctional laws in place currently is not a workable option. It would cost hundreds of billions in federal resources and likely require full militarization of the border.
Perhaps, but significant progress can be made without going to that extreme. There is a lot of room between sealing the border “completely” and doing nothing.
Lastly, just so you know, about half those here without status in the U.S. did NOT enter from Mexico. Around 5-6 million of them entered legally through land, air, or sea ports of entry, and have overstayed. So no, Mexico is not the avenue by which they all come.
There are five million illegal Mexicans here and I’m guessing that most of them walked in. That we have multiple problems is no argument that we shouldn’t address any of them unless we address them all at once.

Agreed on both points, but these were responses to a poster who indicated that we should seal of the border completely and stated that Mexico is the avenue by which all “illegals” entered the country. So those were the misconceptions I was addressing.

As always, :bigyikes:WE are The Problem; WE are the Solution:whistle:: Big employers Hiring undocumented employees, even advertising for them for decades in Their Countries.:hey_bud: Zero prosecution of those Employers, except a tiny handful for political image. But we should Respect the Individuals and their close-knit dependant families, here and abroad. Hating the Sinner means major corporations and employers, not the employee. And they have a much firmer hard work cultural ethic :hammering: we have slipped away from.
