What is the Catholic Church’s view of Free Masonry? Does it believe that Masons have a hidden agenda against the Church?
 
An excellent starting point is the encyclical, Humanum Genus, by Pope Leo XIII. Written in 1884, it is still true today and is a good analysis. The Church’s stand on Freemasonry has been reiterated, as recently as the 1980’s, I believe, by then Cardinal Ratzinger.
