I would ask him some deeply personal questions about the choices I have made, and how I can get back to being a fully functional member of the church again. Also I would ask him how to deal with my severe lack of faith. In other words, personal “pastoral” questions.
You?

If there was time for questions, I’d ask how to love at those that are unlovable. How do you see the Christ in the worst of us?

I would also encourage him - I’d thank him for his example of faith, for preaching the Gospel, and leading the Christian world to appreciate the ‘least of us’ and for valuing life in the face of secular denial. I would tell him that our little Lutheran church prays for him.

I’ll ask him to renounce Pastor Aeternus and convert to Orthodoxy 😉

I think I could only ask him to pray for me. That would be a very high honor, to have the Pope praying specifically for you.

I would have asked him if he was going to be the last pope but after reading this I think I will just wait for your response. It may answer my question without bothering him too much:D

It would be a huge honour. I’d be so nervous! :yup:

I would ask him to explain, on a basic level, how a person is saved. I’d explain what I personally believe about that very same thing, quoting the occasional Qur’anic verse. After that, I’d like to discuss the Old Testament’s understanding of who/what God is.

He’ll still be Pope, but he won’t be the Supreme Infallible ruler of the Church :D:D:D

I’d ask him: “Um…uh…ah…heh, heh…uh…um…I love you!!!”

😛

I’d ask him if he knows what really happened to John Paul I. Even after all these years, that whole situation still doesn’t pass the smell test.

I’d also suggest that he watch his back. He’s stirring up a hornets next with some of his reforms.

What DO you ask/say to the Pope? I’ve never thought of it since I’ve never expected to speak to him…

I would probably genuflect (LEFT knee!), and say something like, “Your Holiness, please know that I pray for you daily, I love you, and you are an inspiration to me. You are the perfect example of a man trying to be Christ-like in his everyday life. God bless you, Your Holiness.”

No, it doesn’t; but you never know. Could be nothing, might be something…

God forbid that anything happen to Pope Francis!

To pray for those I know that are hurting so much, to pray for me, to guide me into a spiritual endeavor, how to love even more (I am thinking of people that make even the most patient, loving and compassionate among us to go :banghead: ) and would he please be my spiritual advisor. Seriously. What better teacher could I possibly have?!

I would ask him to use the authority of his office to reconcile the Roman Church to Holy Orthodoxy.

The Supreme Pontiff has that authority, right?

I’d ask him if he knows what really happened to Benedict XVI. Even after all these months, that whole situation still doesn’t…
