:yup::rotfl:
I say “better safe than sorry.” Unnecessary and the possibility to become an idol to some or graven image is all to present.

Being an artist myself it is hard to fabricate or create any sculpture without making me ponder the question/s…

“How or what is this representing?”

“Is this or could this be a possible graven image?”

“To create something that might possibly be utilized as an idol scares me beyond belief?”

I have a relative who has a huge collection of figurines and as I look at them in a large glass case that collects dust; I question “WHY?” They serve no useful purpose other than to peer at or as I stated before collect dust. This goes for those whom collect umpteen vehicles or hording…geez the list could go on and on, and it all seems like idolatry in a sense to me.

Praise be to GOD the heavenly father and his son lord JESUS CHRIST forever>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Okay heres a good one. You know why we love our Statues and Crosses, etc. Because every time we look at them we THINK of who they are in the image of.

This is a TRUE story. At my daughters wedding we had the reception in the Church Hall. Low and behold ironically we did not realize until later, the bridal table was set up with Jesus on one side his Mother on the other. awesome huh.

A non-Christian was there and said a cuss word, looked up at a Statue of St Peter and said woops :eek: Sorry. Although that Statue of St Peter held no power, it held power over that kid that day. He never cussed the rest of the day.

Now we are talking of a kid that isn’t even baptised, and yet every time he looked at those statues was reminded how to keep that tongue in check!😉

Now is a Statue of Jesus made in the image him? Or is it made in the image of a duck. If it was a duck would someone say of its a statue of Jesus.

How can a statue be a false idol when its not consided God?🤷

How could it not be wrong to have a statue of a bird, or cat or dog, and people realize its a statue, and yet make it of Jesus or Mary or a Saints and its a false idol.🤷

The only way the church could teach Idolatrous doctrine is if the Eucharist is not the body, blood,soul,divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ. When we are in front of the Host we bow to our Saviour.

Cheers!👍
