Catholics and the apocrypha

1. Steve Rudd, writing in a link that can easily be accessed through typing ’ Reasons why apocrypha does not belong in the Bible" argues against the inclusion of the books by the Catholic Church. He says the reason is that there are many uninspired writings early Christians quoted from and the Church has not included them in our Bible. His problem appears to be that she has left out more which should have been included. If he could give a list of such books and which christian quoted so since he seems to have evidence. He might have a point if we look at a quote by the Holy Spirit in 1 Cor. 4:6 since it cannot easily be traced in Scripture.
2. The second reason he gives why it can’t is because the Jews Never accepted it in their Old Testament. Judaism does not are yet to fully accept Christianity. Can they accept the New Testament, and so can we use their judgement to decide on the Canon.
3. Mr. Steve Rudd is rude when he declares the claim by the Catholic Church that it gave the World the Bible is false. While acknowledging that he might have bought his Bible from the shop, shouldn’t he accept that it couldn’t have possibly dropped from the sky? The Church decided on the Canon, preserved it and eventually Mr. Rudd and I received. After some 1500 years of the Canon’s use protestants discovered that some parts were not inspired. And BTW, the Catholic Church has a better claim to interpretation, as compared to individuals.

Mr. Rudd has not done his homework or fully thought things out. There were different sects of Jews in different regions who had different Canons. If a Protestant tells me the basis for their OT Canon is because it is the same as the Hebrew Bible I ask them which version…the Pharisees? The Sadducees?? The Ethiopian Jews??? Ask them why some Jews accepted ressurection while others rejected the notion. Ask them why some Jews accepted writings that were the basis for Hanukkah while others did not.

I would never allow a myth, that there was one Hebrew Bible, to decide the Table of Contents in my Bible, however I will accept the authority of Christ and the Church whom He gave the power to bind and lose. I mean really, who speaks for Protestants? Martin Luther? The Protestants can not call a council on this because of two reasons, no antiquity, and no Biblical based authority to do so.
