Catholics and transgender names

I was wondering, as Catholics are we supposed to accept transgender as valid ? I would assume not. However how then should we act say at work or in public when they expect us to call them by their “new” name? Just be polite and respect what they want in public? Try to refrain and using gender neutral ways to get their attention instead? I’m kind of going through this right now and it bothers me. Of course I don’t want to lose my job or seem like a bigot but I know the Church would not go with accepting of this.

I know this might sound like a stupid question, so I apologize if it’s something that I should know the answer to already. When addressing a transgender person, are we supposed to use their preferred pronouns and name? Or would that, in a way, be supporting their transgenderism and therefore be wrong? I’m leaning more towards the idea that we should use their preferred pronouns and name, even if we disagree with their choices, because it would be respectful. From what I imagine, refusing to use…

Certainly.

A lot of people fail to consider that CAF has been around for awhile, so it’s rare when someone brings up something that hasnt already been discussed.

I agree. I have researched past posts before. This one you posted is only a few weeks old so it’s still relevant of course. However many may have a different view or need to be brought up again at times if you know what I mean. Things change.
