Background on the whole I’m Christian thing… I understand what they’re “trying” to say. That’s also how I identify myself…just Christian. I’m guessing that’s what they’re saying.

What they’re really saying is “I was Catholic, but now I’m Church of Christ” but because they usually just identify as “Christian” in that church that’s why they say “I was Catholic, but now I’m Christian”

I don’t think they’re saying that Catholics aren’t Christian…that’s just how they identify themselves.

just say something like … “the Catholic Church is the only one who claims that Jesus Christ is present, body, blood, soul and divinity at each and every Mass throughout the world and at all times”

or, just keep it simple, “Catholics are Christ-Centered”
Or you could just cut to the chase and say, “Catholics are Christians.”

MrsAngelala:
Please note the quotation marks I used around “convert,” as shown in the quote you’ve included in your post.
Yep, I saw them. Still, though, don’t we want to use terms properly, as a sort of teaching moment for those who don’t?
She meant that as a bit of sarcasm. I too have heard people say they “converted” from Catholicism to Christianity - before I was Catholic, and I have told people that’s pretty much impossible.

well said ,i would just add John 10: 7 So again Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who came before me are thieves and bandits; but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
