Catholics are not Christians?

Why do some Protestants not consider Catholics Christians? I was on youtube the other day watching a video titled 'Saints and Stigmata." The Protestant pastor in the second part of the video states that he did not believe that Roman Catholics were Christians. This is absurd. Are not all people who believe Christ Christian? whether they are catholic or protestant?

In some cases it is ignorance; in others it’s prejudice. It ironic that they are only Christians because of the sixteen centuries that Catholic Christianity existed–before any Protestants were on the scene.
