Hi Jon,

I know you desperately want me in the CC but I just havent been led there. Who knows I’ll never say never because Im not God.😃 But, Im not convinced at all that the CC is the place for me:shrug:

But if I do swim the Tiber I’ll make sure to let you and Church Militant know first:thumbsup:
🙂

Let me quote Fr. Corapi.

He said to his Baptist minister friends. “I’m glad you are in My Church.”

“What? I’m no darn Catholic.”

Fr. Corapi replied. "Are you not baptized in Christ? Is the Church the Mystical Body of Christ? So yes, you are a member of My Church…

Protestant or Orthodox, you are a member of the Church. Neither you like it or not, you are Catholic who who just pick and choose doctrines that fit your understanding of God.

Besides the Bible is a Catholic Bible.

Protestants came from the Catholic Church, the Orthodox came out of the Catholic Church. In the Beginning of Christianity, Jesus establish One Church upon Peter, whom Jesus grafted into Himself.

So I can rightly call you, my separated brothers and sisters in Christ, My brother and sisters.
Great post Manny. Stay safe :gopray: :gopray2:

We do have a common mission. We need to evangelize those of our brethren in our own individual denoms as well who tolerate and permit the decay of our JudaeoChristian heritage.

That being said, I won’t give up my Catholic beliefs. I’ve been on the other side of the fence. But I wholeheartedly agree we need to work together on issues of common concern. I even sent a message to James White on this issue…to which I never heard back…:o

I agree that pointless, nasty, accusing arguments are always a waste of time, but I’ve also seen some great discussions from posters, had questions answered by both regular posters and from the apologists, been directed to great resources. My extreme interest in Catholic doctrine only grows while I’m here, even watching debates that you may consider pointless. I’m currently considering getting the following: A DR Bible…I can’t spell it…i can only hope you know what I’m talking about…a real shiny Catechism, rather than a mess I print from online, and some books on the early church fathers. All because of arguments and debates and reading and so on.

I think I get your point…the way we can be so mean other…it certainly doesn’t fit well with what Jesus said about the world knowing we are His disciples because of our love for each other. But if the arguments and discussions were gone…well…I think I’d kinda miss it. :o

Greetings and peace be with you all,

I am a Catholic and a couple of years ago I attended an ecumenical event, the night before the event I had a phone call to say I would be in a team going out door knocking in the style of the JW’s. I tried to think of all the excuses not to turn up as this is just not in my nature but something compelled me to go.

There was a dozen of us gathered in prayer and having lunch together, we were put in pairs. I met my partner a total stranger and an Anglican for about a quarter of an hour. That was the time it took us to walk from the church to the road we would be calling on.

I introduced myself as a Catholic at the door and my companion whom I had met for the first time in a group just an hour previously introduced himself as an Anglican.

The people we spoke to seemed both confused and intrigued as to how A catholic and Anglican should be working together, and the majority engaged us in meaningful conversations. I believe we sowed some seeds.

I had no real idea of John’s faith and he knew nothing of mine, we had no real preconceived agenda and who was going to say what. In many ways we had to support each other despite our apparent differences, and I believe that was our great strength. We met in prayer together before we went door knocking, we prayed for each other, and as we walked between houses we prayed for the people we were about to meet.

Love one another as I have loved you, by this all men will know that you are my disciples. I believe that this commandment was visible to the people we called on.

In the spirit of growing together in Christ

Eric

Here is a real example why we have to correct some people who do not know well about Catholic.

My girlfriend told me at work that a student came to her and told her one of the most misconceptions:
  • that we Catholic believed “Mary resurrected by herself.”

You know my minister asked us today why we dont go out and shout our Good News from the rooftops.

Jesus Christ is risen today and He is alive!! That is THE BEST news anyone human could get.:extrahappy: But we(christians)choose not to share:( WHY?

If we won the lottery we would tell people–that is only money.

Eternal life is ETERNAL. Where would you like to spend eternity?

I think we(christians)should absolutely share the Good News about Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross. But, we need to share in love and then let it go and let God do the rest. God may choose to save that person or not but we are told to share the News.👍

I shared with a friend the other day and they didnt believe me.I didnt argue with this person , I just simply stated my case for Christ and that was all I could do. No point in trying to cram it down anyone’s throat. I just prayed for them and gave it up to God to deal with.👍
This reminds me of our Easter Vigil.

He is risen!
Truly He is risen!

He is risen!
Truly He is risen!

He is risen!
Truly he is risen!

Now lets go tell all.

Also Fr Corapi has said that the reason the world isn’t Catholic (or in this case even just Christian) is because of me. I am not doing my job well.

From reading a lot of the contributions posted here by Protestants, it is obvious that Catholics are wasting their precious time and energy on the Protestants. 🙂

By the SAME token, the Protestants are wasting their precious resources too! 😉

The Catholic Church calls Protestants ‘our seperated brethren’.

The emphasis is not on ‘seperated’ but ‘brethren’. 👍

Looking at the state of the secular world, which is not so much going from bad to worse, but starts at worse and is going to oblivion. 😦

Are we not both failing in our duty to Mat 20:19 by worrying too much BLAMING EACH OTHER about how the fire started rather than joining forces to PUT THE RUDDY FIRE OUT!! :o

Forget ‘war on terror’ we should be concentrating our unique gifts and talents to engage, fight and win the war on athiest secularism. 😃
Amen!👍

I have to make a comment about those who say we shouldn’t waste time sending missionaries to “Christian” countries.

Many of the European nations are classified as “post-Christian,” not only by Protestant missionary agencies, but also by Catholic missionary agencies.

This is based on numbers of people in these nations that call themselves Christians or attend Christian churches.

On the other hand, many nations in Africa have been experiencing Christian “revival” for many years. (Not all–many of the African nations are Muslim.)

There are good reasons to send Christian missionaries to European nations at this time in history–many of these nations have a large population of Muslims and occultists. It is wise to attempt to win these nations back the Lord Jesus Christ, a lot wiser than, say, fighting a war?!

From what I have read of missionary work in European countries, it is incredibly discouraging. For so many decades, these countries have been influenced by humanist, occult, materialist, and other godless philosophies, and have developed a lot of cynicism toward Christians.

There is actually more openness to the Gospel in some non-European countries.

Frankly, my opinion is that the most closed mission field in the world, the one that is most difficult to minister in, is Hollywood, CA. I’ve read missionary accounts of the difficulties in trying to reach those people involved in the entertainment business with the Gospel of Christ. Those people are so messed up.

I think we need to trust that missionary agencies and churches that send missionaries, including the Catholic Church, have studied the fields and are sending the very limited number of missionaries where they are most needed.

i agree to a point… I know what its like not to have the helps that the Church and only the Church has… Therefore, it is a great act of charity to share those gifts with Protest… :o

Protestants that talk on this blog are really preparing to convert, they protest here because they are compelled to the truth even though they don’t know that yet.

My mother was a convert and her grandfather was an Orangeman. Thanks to dialogue and openeness she learned the truth and converted. As well my wife and my two sisters inlaw converted and soon my anglican brother in law may convert as well. He goes to mass every weekend so it just a matter of time, Eucharistic presence and grace are really unstoppable. But the best news is the converts have born 16 catholic children.

So talk to the protestants they will convert because they really want the truth the way we hear it daily at the mass. My ex-penetcostal wife even loves singing the angus dei in latin, go figure.

This lenten season and easter we had baptists, methodists anglicans, evangelicals, dutch reformers, native spirtual christains and catholics, all part of my family and beloved relatives, celebrate with my wife and I as I baptised my daughter on palm Sunday. So keep talking and loving them the Holy Spirit will bring all his Christians home to the Catholic Church.

God Bless

Thanks for the encouragement. I was beginning to doubt whether i should continue talking 2 Pr or focus more on unbelivers. For one thing, i really don’t like hanging around with unblievers… i used to go to this non- Christian 12 step group and they all acted like i was a Jesus Freak or soemthing… I could tell that some of them definitely didn’t wantto hear what i was saying… It got so i would actually feel the presence of the evil one just being there… and so, i stopped (well, also, the guy leading the thing was starting to… get too friendly - to put it politely - and yet he wasn’t interested in the Catholic or any other Christian religion. Figures… 🤷 I had to get the heck away from all that…

I disagree, I have learn very much about how to defend my faith by being here “debating Catholics.” I know many of the Catholics here are here for the same purpose.

I do agree though that being a missionary to Christian Countries is not all that productive.
Here is the Problem in a nut shell.

If the dialogue only strengthens the division then its fruitless.

The dialogue should continue but only if its mutually done in the Love of Christ.

A militant Christ is no Christ at all and a Christ not within is a Christ not known.

If the dialogue only strengthens the division then its fruitless.
The dialogue should continue but only if its mutually done in the Love of Christ.
Amen, we owe it to Christ to seek unity, fruitful dialogue and above all mutual forgiveness
