Catholics can attend events like this?

Here is an internal document used as a case study/teaching guide by the Jesuit Conference of the United States distributed to members of its order, taken directly from the official website of the Conference of Major Superiors of Men (CMSM):

Is it ok for Catholics to attend such an event?

The document, I feel, is a little vague on what exactly the purpose is. I know it discusses homosexuality and sexual abuse, but I don’t know what they are trying to say about either one.

What “event” are you thinking of? The document states at the title page that it is not a part of the 2015 program.

So what you are asking then based on the document is “is it OK for a Catholic with same sex attraction to attend a gay pride parade?”

It depends. IMHO it would not be OK for this Catholic to attend for the purpose of meeting up with other gay men to campaign for that lifestyle. It would be OK for this Catholic to attend to march with Courage to show that one can have same sex attraction and not act on it.

This decision would best be discussed with the Catholic’s spiritual director, which is part of the scenario you linked.
