Yes! The non denom service did illicit an emotional response from me by their music and sermon. I don’t feel that at Mass anymore, though I once did.Non-denomination church services are specifically designed to elicit an emotional reaction through the music and sermon. On the other side the Mass is designed to foster a willful response. The difference is that while emotions can fade quit quickly and force of will is your most deep set conviction. I can feel happy at a church service but that doesn’t mean I am truly fulfilled. Only Jesus can truly fulfill us and he is physically present at each Catholic Mass.
The thing is, one of my first thoughts after the ND service concluded was “Is that it? What do we do for the rest of the week?”
The Catholic Church has ways to practice the faith all week long. The rosary, Adoration, ability to enter the Church and pray before the Tabernacle and more.
