Reading Saint Augustine’s Confessions helped me to realize that the saints aren’t that different from us. Reading Divine Mercy in my Soul helped me to recognize that saints exist in our day and age, too.

You have piqued my curiosity… St. Anthony is one of my dearest companions mostly because I went to a grade school named after him and because he does help me find lost things. Now I want to know MORE!!! Thanks…

Bixby, I read St. Francis of Assisi last year and I thought it was going to be so boring… but it was really spiritual and enlightening… 🙂

There is good short book on this saint, “St. Anthony, the Wonder Worker of Padua,” by Charles Stoddard. As a matter of fact, it is still on my work table, because I read it last week after just getting it from amazon.com.

The writings of Catherine of Siena are very helpful in this time of Church upheaval as her time was similarly troubled. Jesus spoke to her about the corrupt clergy many times, including such clergy’s homosexuality and lust for power and wealth.
