Catholics insisting on confession to a Priest

[Waivering]

If all who whole heartedly believe in Jesus and God are truly sorry for all their sins, have remorse and turn away from sin, can get into heaven why does the Catholic faith insist they confess to a Priest? Catholics state you can confess directly to God and achieve forgiveness but only a Priest can give absolution and the right into heaven. Other faiths disagree and I tend to also.
