Hello! I just recently became Catholic and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the names of some apologists who are Catholic who talk about the philosophical and moral truth of Christianity and not just catholic vs Protestant issues. I really enjoyed Ravi Zacharias when I was Protestant (and still do) but I want to know of some that share my Church. All of the apologists I know of currently (except maybe Peter Kreeft) seem to focus on defending Catholic theology from non-Catholic Christians, not against Atheist or other religions. Thank you!

I was thinking that perhaps Jimmy Akin would be a good apologist for what you are thinking of. But then again, I’m not sure. He often deals with things that are theological in nature rather than focusing on Atheism and such.

I recommend Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. He’s a brilliant theologian.

Perhaps you are looking for someone more contemporary, but my thoughts go to G.K. Chesterton.

Peter Kreeft is a philosophy professor and is renowned; and Catholic.

Trent Horn. I don’t know if he has any books out yet, but he’s been on Catholic Answers Live a lot, doing open forums for atheists and pro choicers to call in. He’s pretty sharp. He focuses more on apologetics for Christianity in general. And pro life dialogue also. He’s quickly becoming one of my favorite apologists.

I listened in a bit the other night when Trent Horn was on and they were taking calls from atheists and I was impressed by him. He had a cool and calm demeanor too, and laid things out logically.

Edward Feser has a good blog, and has many published writings as well, including some books…

Another person who often makes interesting posts of such a nature is Mike Flynn

Do you have any idea if that radio show recording is available on the Catholic Answers website? I really wanted to listen, but could not due to something going on. Thanks

Yep, it should be available by now. If you go to the radio calendar they have recordings of all their past shows.

EDIT: I just double checked and it is on their site. 👍
