Many of our separated brethren are better role models of what it means to be Christian than those who claim to have the “Fullness”.

Well, let’s be honest. You never really did live as a Catholic Christian. you did not embrace the Catholic doctrine before you left, and did not embrace it after returning. 🤷

It may not matter to you what “name is on the door” but it does matter to those of us that take the Catholic faith seriously. For us, it is all or nothing, so having someone parading around masquerading in a faith they do not espouse is insulting.

Indeed, based upon your posts, the shoe definitely fits.

It appears that you do not distinguish between Sacred Tradition, which is the immuntable Word of God in the Church, and human customs (the small “t”). I am not sure “hung up” is the right response to either of them, but Catholics are charged to maintain the Sacred Traditions, and not the human customs. If you refuse to maintain them, it is disingenuous to call yourself a Catholic. Though it may not matter to you, it sure does matter to your readers.
Hey sir as I have said a million times it really doesn’t matter what you think of me. What is important to me is what Jesus thinks and I know that I please Him in a great deal of ways, also disappoint Him too. But like I said God aint finished with me yet. I am 71 years old and I know that Jesus loves me and answers my prayers and buddy it don’t get better than that. I am not hung up on this law and that law of the church and never will.

Since we are on a “read the Bible” thread, maybe you can explain, using scripture, how Jesus could possibly be pleased by you misrepresenting yourself?

Do not the Scriptures say “let your yes be yes, and your no be no”? Don’t you understand this to be that we should be persons of our word? How can you use the word “Catholic” to represent yourself, while publicly denying the Catholic faith?

Help me understand this, because it is lost on me how Jesus could be pleased with such a thing. 🤷

I am glad that you are walking with Jesus, and that He is still working on you. It can get better for you, if you can walk in integrity. Integrity means you walk your talk, what you see is what you get, etc.

When a person looks at your “affiliation” or religion field, what they see is not what they get.

Your rebellion against the Catholic Church is not a matter of canon law (although it does include that also), but matters of fundamental doctrine. The Aposltes and Early Fathers described people that reject these doctrines as “heretics” and “apostates”. They did this because they are core elements of the faith. Those who are outside them are outside the faith.

I love you my separated sister, and I am sure Jesus loves you too. I object to the disingenuous manner in which you represent yourself here at CAF.

Yes, we’ve heard you a million times tell us that you’re quite content to offend us by listing yourself as Catholic, while publicly displaying your careless disregard to the faith which we hold so dear…we’ve heard you loud and clear, tweety. It’s painfully obvious none of this matters to you. Doesn’t change the fact that we find it highly insulting that you call yourself Catholic, as if it’s a word used only to describe the church you attend on Sundays. Also doesn’t change the fact that we are appalled by the fact that you teach RCIA. As I recall, no one asked you about that…you simply decided to offer that bit of information yourself. For what it’s worth, I think you should NEVER share that information with ANYONE. I’ll go one further and suggest that you cease teaching it, regardless of the fact that you never teach your own personal beliefs. I think anyone who rejects teachings fails to meet a basic prerequisite for being a catechist. Call me judgmental if you like, but I’m not judging you. I’m just telling you that even your very brief exposure to me here on this forum has left me feeling insulted. I’m sure you’re a wonderful person, and we might even get along splendidly…but your disregard for Catholicism is as insulting to me as 2nd Adam’s “Happy Reformation Day” banter.

Okay, so they start down the Protestant road. Then they come to the fork in the road heading off in thousands of different directions. Where does the Bible lead them then?
I agree that is much abuse and mishandling of Scripture with all branches of Christendom. IMO… what we can say about Protestant scripture abuse can be fround in the Catholic Church and Orthodox Churches.

So how do you figure out what is an abuse of scripture or not? Or do you just call everything you don’t believe in an “abuse”?

Indeed. And what is the standard one uses to determine what’s an abusive interpretation?

The answer that is often proferred by non-Catholics is: “the standard is the Bible” but that’s a statement that begs the question. 🤷

I [SIGN]didn’t come here for critizim[/SIGN], I came here for fellowship. I love all people regardless of who you are or what you believe. I know zillions of Catholics and non Catholic and have never met a more judgemental people than I have here. Not one person in my lifetime that I have ever met have been so unkind not just to me but to others who don’t meet what they think is right.

Trust me when I say if I was looking for answers and even thought about becoming a Catholic I wouldn’t find much love here that would make me decide to become Catholic. I have been told I was going to Hell by some people cause I didn’t fall into their idea of what groove i was in and I have seen others bashed and bashed over and over again. Now that is what makes me angry and hurts my feeling not especially for me but for the zillion of times I have seen others treated unkindl:thumbsup:y.
No one does tm. We all love one another. But are we not here to help and correct eachother in understanding the faith. Why do you feel that People being honest with you and telling you that what you believe do not agree with the teaching’s of the CC?

I am sorry that people have been mean to you in your life and and you have to watch people be mean to others but that is life. But what does that have to do with the teaching’s of the CC.

Do you want us to sit here and let you teach false doctrine about our faith? If so why are we here?
