Why bring up Dawkins? Again, you only want to hear the parts you like.

All Catholic are creationists by definition.
 
I don’t think I have much of a case to make anymore, since I’ve realized that most Catholics readily acknowledge biological evolution, even of the human body — at least on this CA Forum.

It’s a very, very small minority who not only are Creationists but reject that (macro) evolution is even allowable.

and eventually Catholics begin to understand the issue and then are no longer Catholics. Why? Theistic evolution is not sustainable.

Finding this out - many choose the claims of modern science and it becomes their god.
 
Not at all, since Creationism in this context means Fundamentalist literalism.

This entire thread has been using “Creationist” in the context of whether one can accept evolution or not… 🤔

Tough to stop a fast moving freight train on a dime. It takes time and happens one person at a time. These discussions serve to educate the indoctrinated.

Sadly, that does become the case. Science has the answer: “No one made us.” You are just another animal. “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.” Yeah - not right.
 
I got this from The Catholic Answers website from an apologist.

“Concerning human evolution, the Church has a more definite teaching. It allows for the possibility that man’s body developed from previous biological forms, under God’s guidance, but it insists on the special creation of his soul. Pope Pius XII declared that “the teaching authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions . . . take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter—[but] the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God” (Pius XII, Humani Generis 36). So whether the human body was specially created or developed, we are required to hold as a matter of Catholic faith that the human soul is specially created; it did not evolve, and it is not inherited from our parents, as our bodies are”
