Mohammed was wrong.

I’m not really interested in where he is.

It is clear that his followers treat women like property and Jews like dogs.
Wow where did that come from, i doubt it cam from the spirit re read my posts then quote me in relation to your words “Mohammed was wrong”

I love you and guess your words come from other things not from my words

Please, please love each other.

Having one eye for your religion is not always wrong but can be dangerous.

My Father gave you two eyes if you cant use at least one to see where people are you will have a hard time helping them to see the beauty you see in your other eye.

Your words communicate more than you realize, I guess!

Your words communicate more than you realize, I guess!
That tells me little, quote what i have said that is not what we are called to.

Other than this respectfully you are not a credible witness but by your words i assert what you post at CAF is just your guess work and not of The True Spirit.

you guess what i posted is from this Mohammed you speak of, from the words i posted only do you guess him right or wrong?

Then we can see if you are a clear guesser.

I stand firm on these last few posts seeing them as from My Father if your Mohammed speaks them too please direct me to where i can learn from him.

Dear geometer and others,
sorry i have become a hijacker of your thread, i have PMed the other poster so you can all stay on thread.

My intention a few posts back was to share peace with you all so you could share in love and grow in faith.

May G-d bless and guide you all

I know that, this is what is taken out of the context. But, Jesus said a lot more in those 21 verses that lend no support to that. It seems that no one who is catholic reads the scriptures with the idea that they are meaningful.

Catholics are really very cold to the scriptures. Why is that?
Why are we wasting time with this person. He has yet to offer only accusations without substance. shake the dust off your sandals. He only wants to be a disruptor.
I see nothing being gained by carrying on this conversation with a recalcitrant fool.
Just my opinion. But I get a little tired of the Catholic bashing. How about you? 😃

Hi everyone!

The whole point of this thread was to see where our friend finds basis in his belief that Catholics reject John 3. We’ve presented our points initially with great care and respect. If he chooses to continue to believe that we do not take to heart the entire chapter, then its obvious that he chooses not to take our considerations to heart.

Like I and others have stated before, it’s very important to take the entire chapter (and the entire Bible) into context.

Christ is instructing us to believe in Him as the Son of Man. He also tells us that we have to born of both water and spirit. If we believe in Him, but not his words, are we truly believing in him?

This chapter does support the Sacrament of Baptism. It also supports Christ’s words that he come from God. “No one enters the Kingdom of God without being born of water and spirit.”

As a Catholic, I cannot ignore his words and still believe in Him. God Bless.

Catholics are really very cold to the scriptures. Why is that?
First, Catholics know that verses and chapters are artificial groupings of the entire letter. The author never intended to put chapters and verses until the translators did. Hence, any insinuations that one verse continuous over the entire chapter is artificial and being “cold” to the scriptures as to what they really mean. It could be true that Jesus is telling something else in the next verses but the translator thought that the entire chapter must be connected together. Somewhere, Jesus said, “If you love me, follow my commandments.” This indicates that loving Jesus is more than just the word “love.” The same is true in “believing” Jesus, this entails being Baptized, keep his commandments, and follow everything he said until death. When one believes in that there is gravity, he/she would not be a fool to walk over a cliff would he? That is “believing.”

Second, how do you support your allegations that Catholics are very cold to the scriptures? Don’t you ever notice that Catholics use the Bible every Mass? In fact, in the entire Mass you will find quotations from the Bible since the start: “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all.” and the last “Go in peace.” Find it out in Scott Hahn’s book “Lamb’s Supper.”

Third, Catholics are hot in the Scriptures. How would one know how the Catholic Church defended errors in Scripture translations until the Protestants came? How many monks and priests sacrificed blood and sweat transcribing one whole Bible to a new copy by hand before the printing technology? Catholics are not hot about which chapter or verse one Christian idea/dogma is located, but Catholics (at least those serious ones) know what the Bible contains. Catholics have respect on both the Bible and those person whom God gave teaching authority over morals and Faith of the Flock.

It appears to me that Protestants are rather cold to the Catholics as their brethren in the search for the face of God. To me, most of the time, Protestants almost means anti-Catholic. I almost wonder where Protestants get their inspiration to exist. Can’t just Protestants be without ridiculing how Catholics are? Catholics are because of the Holy Spirit, independent whether Protestants are there or not.

@"It appears to me that Protestants are rather cold to the Catholics as their brethren in the search for the face of God.:
Remember that not all people are against Catholics… Either some people noticed something wrong with your spiritual belief or just want to get noticed.

@"To me, most of the time, Protestants almost means anti-Catholic.
Well if thats what you think, then, thats what they also think of Catholics…

I remember my classmate who was a Catholic but then turned into a Christian, when her mother “forced” her to go to catholic church, a guy from the choir department texted her and said "Why are you here? Aren’t you a Christian now? I think you should leave! Then cursed her… So my classmate sent Words of God to the guy and he shut up…
Lesson?: Some Catholics also attack Christians…

@I almost wonder where Protestants get their inspiration to exist.
Let me guess… The Bible?

🤷

Im not a Protestant… Im a Born-Again Christian… i don’t know if its the same…

This is yet another example of bigotry and ignorance.

At least they are here and if they are willing, they can learn!

Why do you draw a distinction between Catholics and Christians? To be Catholic is to be Christian, Catholics are the origional Christians. To suggest otherwise is ignorance and bigoted. I truly hope this was not your intention.

A Catholic wrote John 3 and as such the basis of the question as insolent as looking at my wedding album and saying why is my wife marrying some other man.

God Bless

It seems we have the typical protestant opinion about Catholics and scriptures. If the Church teaches a different understand than our seperated bretheren, they immediatly say that WE, as Catholics don’t understand, because we reject their interpretation. They say we are cold to scriptures, when it was us who gave the scriptures to the world, and saved them intact over the centuries for posterity. Thru the Jews and Romans persecution, thru the barbarian and Viking onslaughts, thru the Islamic jihads, and lastly thru their own rebellion, it was the Catholic Church holding fast to the scriptures and the Traditions given us by our Lord and the Apostles. The coldness to scripture you attribute to us is fantasy. As I posted earlier. we reject nothing from scripture, we wrote them. Pax Christi

Really, you don’t say ?
Pray tell, how would you know that to be true ?

You always resort to insults. Jesus didn’t teach you that. Behave yourself.
Well being a Theosopher, you have better access to these mystical insights than do we RC’s who can only trace back to Jesus Christ, our founder.

Don’t think I will bother much with this thread, another round of talking forever in circles, never saying anything of substance.

Bless you courageous souls who want to engage, but my experience tells me you’d be better off just spending your time praying for them.
Conversion (and that is what it will take to change these minds ! ) is the job of the Holy Spirit, not us mere mortals.

+Peace,
Bob

=Tonks40;5751294]The above was stated in a thread on another topic by one of our forum members, and instead of derailing the thread, I thought I’d start one here to see if our wonderful Catholic members could refute him.
The topic was taking Scripture out of context, in which this member replied:
…in which I replied:
There’s more, but I want to get to the gist of the topic of this thread: Do Catholics reject John 3 - IOW, do we focus on particulars of this chapter as prime proof-text of the Sacrament of Baptism - or do we consider all of this chapter as declarations of the Truth?
I say we do and this text IS about Baptism along with rebirth into new life…but our friend feels otherwise
I’m guessing the question should read: “Do Catholics reject John 3:16?”

The answer is of course not! It’s in the Bible which is Dively Inspired! [2 Tim. 3:16]

The difference is we use the entire Bible, not just one verse, which can be disproven by John 3:5 and John 3:36 in the same book.

Add to that Mattt. 19:16, John 20:21-23, Mt. 18:15-18 and there are a great many more.

The Protestant position actually opposes what the Bible actually says. But they have a right to rely on Hope instead of Faith.🤷

Love and prayers.

“Do Catholics reject John 3 - IOW”
Code:
The New Testament is a Catholic book.
The Catholic faith gave the New Testament to the world.

If Catholics were to reject John 3
they (we) would be rejecting the book that the Church itself canonized.
John 3 makes a clear reference to BAPTISM.

The Holy Spirit inspired the authors
While the Paraclete GUIDED the Church
It is a fact that the Catholic Church,
under the guidance of the Holy Spirit,
which was also the author of every inspired book
collected and canonized
the New Testament

The Bible with all of its books
is the perfect Catholic gift to the world.

Pax et bonum
