Its more the problem of eating a nice lunch with a group of people, and someone saying something like, before I was a Christian, when I was Catholic. And I say, Catholics are Christian, and the response is no they’re not. I really don’t worry about, it is just annoying.

The people that think this are so profoundly ignorant of their own faith, not to mention yours, that they’re really not in any position to discuss religion with you or anyone in any meaningful way. They obviously don’t know what they’re talking about so they cannot be taken seriously in any way. You’re right to not worry about it. And it is my prayer that you will get to the place where you’re not even annoyed. The best thing we can do for these people is pray that, at the very least, their deep intolerance can be mitigated. After that, perhaps they will be ready to listen to the truth.

I would just say, “I’m glad you finally found Christ; it’s so sad that you couldn’t find Him in His own Church, though.”
