I think this is a loaded question? But - here goes,

Not sure.

I need more specifics in your question.
Hi, you can just go back to my original post question.

Trust me Im not going to debate any answers given.😃 Im not interested in that just your views on topic.šŸ‘

What is to become of your Catholic friends and family?
The same thing that becomes of your Protestant friends and family, atheist friends and family, etc. . .

They will be judged by Almighty God (we all will) and since He is all just, and all merciful, and alone possesses the power to know every individual’s heart. . .we can rest assured that His judgment will be fully righteous.

Until then, what we can do is pray for every person on earth to open his or her heart to do the will of God.

Hi,

What if you publicly disagree with any of the dogmas/doctrine. What if you disagree with birth control, homosexual marriage, celibacy of priests publicly. Would this be a cause to be considered not a catholic anymore?

Or would it be bigger doctrines like the Mary or purgatory etc. You guys get my point.😃
I guess it just depends on who you talk to. I’ve discovered that if I talk to cradle Catholics who have never fallen away from the Church before in your life, they’re not sympathetic with your dispute and think that you’re better off NOT being a Catholic.
I’ve talked with former fallen-away Catholics and converts and they are the most sympathetic in helping you come to terms with the Church with open arms, versus snears and judgement.

ALLFORHIM:
Im just wondering because I dont personally know a single catholic(not even by devout in-laws) who believe in everything the CC stands for.:nope:
About 1/4 of the people I know who are Catholics believe and follow everything the CC teaches.

But you havent answered my questions.😦 What are to become of my catholic friends and family.😦
I believe God will judge all of us, irregardless of denomination, what we know to be true and how well we live by that Truth. 😃

So when do you guys begin the inquisition? Who do you burn first? There are so many ā€œhereticsā€ in your eyes, so much hate. It’s very sad. It’s people like you that should be excommunicated. The Church doesn’t need it’s own version of the Taliban.

You know what? I don’t even think for a minute that a single of one you really, truly believes every single dogma of the Church. You just convince yourselves that you do. It gives you a feeling of superiority over others. You can tell yourselves that you are better than someone else - and if you need to do that, you very probably aren’t.

As a cafeteria Catholic, at least in your eyes, I think heresy hunters are the antithesis to the message we derive from Christ.

Personally, at the risk of sounding superior myself, I think you’re all a bunch of hypocrites. Worry about yourselves, and not about whether anyone else is enough of a Catholic or not. Who the heck are you to judge? Remember what Jesus says about the log in your eye. Ii is precisely for these kinds of things that we have those sayings in the Bible. Do you really hold yourselves to the impossibly high standards you hold others to? I doubt it. The sanctimonious never do.

Who even needs the Church if everyone is perfect? That’s what forgiveness and ā€œagapeā€ are for. Where’s the compassion?

Ok, I’m checking out now. The hate is overwhelming these forums. It’s like an anti-Church, a Church from the dark side, not the beautiful, wondrous, truly spiritual Church that Catholicism has blessed us with.

Do you really think the laws of God are a burden?

Does accepting the teachings of Christ, through His Church, really make you less free than rejecting them?

The solution to dissent is not to claim assent is not needed or that assenting is hypocrisy. The solution is total abandonment to Christ. That entails submission to the Church. That entails a properly formed conscience. That entails cheerful obedience and humility, not pride.

ALL for Him,

You are aware that the Catholic Church does not teach that non catholics are damned to hell right? You did know that I hope.

Would you like the documents on that? I know you asked for My view on it, but its the Church view on it that matters.

Kindly point to the hate filled post and I for one will review it as this is my Op after all and dont want hate in the thread, I am kinda picky about that stuff.

Wait, I think I found it now. Thanks for pointing it out to me!šŸ‘

Hi,

LOL You guys seem to be rare.😦 Yes I do mean people outside these forums.
Yes, they are rare, however, the bigger question that forms in my mind is whether or not they thought thru their acceptance or did they just glom onto it. Did they use the intellect and mind that they were given or do they just accept what they are told to accept?
I would hope that the term ā€œcafeteria catholicā€ is not acceptable to well-mannered Catholics. Name calling gets us nowhere.

Damascus, I was taught by nuns that non catholics were in fact going to Hell, when I was older and studied the church teachings on my own I found that, unlike many of the major religions, the Church offers all sorts of loopholes, that’s why I returned to the Church, simply because the Church proper (if not the posters in this thread) actually WANTS people to be saved.

Unless you can see into our hearts, you have no idea whether we’re being honest or lying to preserve our sense of superiority. In other words, you think we’re all hypocrites. Believe what you want about us, but I can say with absolute certainty that I agree 100% with everything that the Church teaches, and from what I can tell, I don’t think Tantum ergo or Damascus are lying, either.

Wow, did I pick a bad time to finally peek at this thread.

Just like in real life, I always come in at the wrong time.

Turns around and walks back out.

😦

Thats sad that happened to you. I have heard this before.

I dont call it a loophole, but I see your analogy I think.

Yes, I agree that the Catholic Church and properly taught Catholics want people saved. So do other faiths.

Maybe this is just that misconception I hear so often from non Catholics, that could be it.

:clapping: I’m not sure this applies to all the posters here, but I feel confident it applies to some. Well said!

šŸ‘‹

Come back and chat! We’re a friendly bunch!!! 😃

Doesnt that go hand in hand?
No, it doesn’t necessarily follow, considering that the Catholic Church never claimed that you have to be an explicit member of the Church to go to heaven. nor does it teach that everyone who is an explicit member is definitely going to heaven.

Personally, at the risk of sounding superior myself, I think you’re all a bunch of hypocrites.
If I had wanted a church in which I was free to disagree with the hierarchy, I would’ve remained Protestant, and if I had anything but full assent to the authority of the Catholic Church on the day I made my confirmation (3 months ago), I would’ve been a bigger hypocrite, and under even harsher judgment from God by calling him down as a witness to something I didn’t truly believe. So please, be careful when tossing about the term hypocrite.
