When I moved to Scotland 10 years ago I found it impossible to make any Catholic friends. I don’t know why, it just didn’t happen. After about 6 years I became friendly with a woman I met at a prayer group and that made all the difference. That friendship helped me grow in faith. Shortly after that I found the local trads
That community tends to be more close because most of us feel like a church within a church, and stick together. These last 3 years have been amazing, both socially and spiritually.
I’m moving abroad again in 2 weeks and must confess I am a bit nervous about meeting Catholics. I will have to join all sorts of groups in the parish in order to meet people. I really hope I will not be alone.
